  1. Isn't Miles something like 26 years old with very little MLB experience? Where as Harris is younger, with more experience, and with a larger upside? I see what you're saying, but I don't see why anyone had any interest in Miles to begin with.

    Loaiza

Loaiza is just pitching like a woman this season. It takes him 3-4 inning to realize there are two sides of the plate. It drives me insane.
  3. Steve Stone is quite bad also. Cubs fans claim him to be smart, but he merely states the obvious in a boring and dull voice...thus making Cub fans think he is smart. However, in reality, he's a tool. "Walker needed to turn that ball over fast, so he got it out of his glove quickly," said Stone. "Oh my gosh! He's right! What a genius!" praised Cub fans. That's not too far of a stretch either.
  4. Uribe has been far more valuable to the White Sox than Miles could have been. Miles is hitting in a hitter friendly Coors, so those numbers had better be up. And though Uribe's numbers are tanking, there was never a point in time where Miles carried the Rockies...not even for a 2 or 3 game stretch. In addition, Uribe has been above average with the glove, and his arm is extremely valuable in the White Sox infield. All in all, Miles is not missed in my book.
  5. Burke is a better option in the outfield...fieldingwise, IMO.
  6. CF? The guy is an awful RFer for heaven sakes. He belongs at 1B, plain and simple. Get him out of the outfield, please.
  7. It mattered, it's just things weren't so tense when the ball game got down into the Sox pen. 2000 had a pretty solid pen. 2004 on the other hand...
  8. I'm a big backer of Maggs for Jones/Ortiz...but the White Sox NEED another bridge man to Damaso and Shingo.
  9. I'll say the 2004 offense is better. The 2000 team had number guys, the 2004 team is pure balance. Our 'best' hitter is sidelined, but the offense has seemingly picked up the pace in his abscense. Would the 2000 team have been as good if the best hitter from that year went down? Not likely. If you look at the numbers on this 2004 team, there is no 2000 Frank Thomas leading the way. Everyone is getting their job done, and everyone is getting the big hit when needed. The 2000 team was inexperienced and leaned on Maggs and Frank a bit more than they do now. The core has experience, and the core knows what s*** needs to get done. Imagine the line-up when Magglio gets back. Bronx who? How about those South Side Hitmen?
  10. And now this: Chip Caray and Steve Stone 59% Hawk and DJ 23% Pat Hughes and Ron Santo 14% John Rooney and Ed Farmer 4%
  11. I wasn't thinking on Bernie...but I wouldn't call Juan a mediocre defensive CFer, IMO.
  12. He'll want to stay here alright. Especially after I take him out back and introduce him to my thugs...
  13. Pitching is much more important than hitting down the stretch and in the playoffs. Ortiz would be a valuable addition, and Jones bolsers the defense up the middle. Take a look at the teams that win championships, and they are all strong in CF. Erstad, Pierre, Williams...all good defensive CFers. Jones is probably better than all three both offensively and defensivley. ...Maybe not Williams, but close. The Sox offense hasn't skipped a beat with Maggs out of the line-up, so it doesn't hurt a hell of a lot to trade him. I love him to death, but Jones and Ortiz puts the Sox in the elite. That's four above average starters in Garcia, Ortiz, Buehrle and Loaiza. That is one hell of a playoff staff. IMO, with four starters that good, the bullpen isn't as big of an issue. Instead of the need for 2 maybe even 3 arms, KW can limit the need to 1. If the deal is on the table, I'd pull the trigger. But does Maggs need to come of the DL for him to be traded?
  14. He gone! I hope. I don't like Davis much. However, I'm not basing my opinion on a lot.
  15. Be some bullpen damnit!
  16. Or we resign Garcia, he becomes our true ace for years, and Davis turns into a legit catcher. Then Reed can't get over his wrist problems and Miguel Olivo doesn't learn to call a game... Then what? Keep cryin', we have Garcia and Davis, not Reed and Olivo ...and there ain't a thing you can do about it.
  17. It's amazing what a little off speed pitch will do for you. Blue Jay fans say he's up and down all year. Hopefully he's passed that.
  18. Quit b****ing. The future is now.
