Men's vs Women's Athletic Ability
The women's basketball team at my college only had 8 players, so there were 4 of us guys that practiced with them. The smaller ball was weird for about a week, but after that seemed like my shot was a lot better. I was also able to dunk it in a scrimmage game, which I was never able to do in an intramural game or pickup game. I was not good enough to make my college team, but was a superstar playing against the women. The top player we had resented us guys practicing with them, and threw well placed elbows when she could, but I know the guards liked it as they told us it made them better players. What sucked was when intramural started back up and I was switching back and forth between the different sizes.

2013 MLB Catch-All thread
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 14, 2013 -> 01:51 PM) That is the biggest crock of f***ing s*** I have ever seen. Why and how can you not suspend Greinke in that mess? HE HIT 2 GUYS - 2 - and all he gets is a fine? f*** Zach Greinke And with the whole team's very public attitude of 'you hit one of ours, we hit one of yours', too.

2013 MLB Catch-All thread
Funny how every time Greinke hits a batter first, the umps immediately warn both benches so the other side can't retaliate.

2013 MLB Catch-All thread
So when Greinke hits Sox (or ex-Sox) batters with a 0-2 count, he always claims it was an accident, and why would he want to do that when he had them 0-2, etc. And everyone seems ready to believe him. So when Kennedy hits Puig with a 0-2 pitch, all Greinke's teammates are just so SURE that it was on purpose. "If you can't pitch inside without hitting someone in the head, you shouldn't pitch inside," Mattingly said. Same goes for your guy, douchebag. No surprise that Greinke is involved in yet another incident of hitting batters. This guy is a tool.

SCOTUS allows DNA Collection
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 03:33 PM) I should also note that the Maryland law in question and the database in use there only use non-coded sections of DNA to match. In other words, the Maryland database contains none of this information and none of it is collected or recorded. You could not get any of that information from what Maryland puts into their database. Just like the new scanners at airports don't store or keep the 'pictures' they take, when we find out that many of them do. Got it.

SCOTUS allows DNA Collection
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 02:37 PM) Because ultimately you either trust the govt or you do not. Historically govts have never been kind to my people. How much easier would it have been for the Nazi's to catch Jews if they had a DNA database and could search for "Jew genes." Its not obviously a bad thing. I think most people like the idea that DNA will catch criminals. I think people like that fingerprints catch criminals. But what happens when the govt uses those tools against us? Like IRS records?

SCOTUS allows DNA Collection
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 02:22 PM) I'm still unconvinced about why this is obviously a bad thing. I thought there was a provision for just that in one of the many immigration bills proposed not too long ago.

Biggest problems in baseball and how to solve them
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 09:57 AM) Maybe convince ESPN that there are 28 other teams in the league... yeah, right.

Biggest problems in baseball and how to solve them
Season is too damn long. Cut amount of games by 20%, and all salaries by same percentage. No reason to be playing baseball April 1st or to have playoffs around Halloween.

Dunn?
QUOTE (sammy esposito @ May 31, 2013 -> 01:39 PM) 32 million or so we owe Adam no one will take his contract. It was a bad move on KW's part. His last year with washington his avg was .259 tht has translated to to .159 playing in the american league with the sox. Anybody can make a 57 million dollar mistake.Llighten up on the criticism of Adam and KW. Would be awesome if he had a .259 ba with the Sox. he would be a fan favorite for sure, if that were true. I still think he needs glasses.
