Yankees have finally waken up. They've taken the lead 9-8, still batting in the bottom of the 8th (scored 5 this innings, still just 1 out). The Oakland pen (Mecir & Rincon) has given up the lead,

One more cheap ass Indian bloop single and I'll :puke I'll blame Garland too, but it's not like Cleveland is bashing him all over the park.

Facing D'Amico, the Sox might fall prey to the "seeing a new pitcher" syndrome. D'Amico is a veteran, but at least according to yahoo, the Sox have next to no experience versus D'Amico. Uribe and Timo are the only guys with even halfway meaningful experience vs. D'Amico. BTW - Nice job by Randy Johnson last night! :fthecubs and let's go Blue Jays.

Perhaps the worst Mariotti column ever
One week ago, Cincinnati was beating the Cubs, and trash was flying all over Wrigley. Some were panicking to the extent that the Cubs were now going to lose 100 games, etc, etc. I loved the fact that the Cubs were struggling, but (at least tried to) stop myself from taking a couple games out of context. (The garbagefest was really funny however!) Now, they beat up on Pittsburgh and NYMets, and they are the unquestionable, undeniable team of destiny that everyone should bow down to and then get out of the way? Both extremes are stupid in April, Mariotti should realize this. :dips*** :fthecubs

Alex Gonzalez (of the Marlins)
I was watching parts of the game (while writing a paper :puke ) and just happened to see the fight. It looked like two hockey fighters squaring off out in the open ice away from everyone else. Unfortunately (at least for my entertainment value) the umpire stepped in right between them and held them up until the benches cleared, and then it was just a slight clusterf***.

Game Thread-Wed 4/21 vs Yanks
f***! A-Rod finally did something. On a f***ing 0-2 pitch, Garland was listening to the crowd and trying to strike out the f***ing side. Oh well, 1-1 after 5 1/2.

Matsui He GAWN! Lee flies to Lee on one pitch Enrique dribbles first pitch to PK. Great inning by Jon. Come on top of the order!

Carlos Lee, doing YARDWORK! 1-0 Sox, don't stop there, make this a crooked number, Garland deserves it.

Garland is working inside. He brushed back both Jeter and Giambi. He jammed Jeter pretty well (Jeter still hit a fly to the track in center, the ball is jumping tonight) Hawk, "Well, this first inning was a little better than yesterday."

Game Thread-Tuesday April 20th vs Yankmees
Well I think we learned tonight that if you give up 7 runs in one inning, it's very difficult to win. Gee, what a fricking revelation. The Sox fought hard (although I would've liked to see the Sox at least test Rivera). Considering the first inning, our bullpen is still fairly well intact for the rest of the series. Only Adkins and Jackson will probably not be able to go tomorrow. A lot of very good offensive performances (Rowand, Magglio, PK, Uribe, Gload, Crede). Very nice attendance too, 32K.

OWWWW! That had to hurt. Matsui went face (more like nose) first right into the back of a seat in the first row.

Thank you Ruben Sierra, what an f-up, how could he swing at that? Ok, 9-7. That could've been a lot worse. Keep hitting boys.

LOL! 8-7 through 5! Come on, hold 'em at 8 and we've got this one. The crowd is juiced. Gotta love Ozzie!
