if the sox due not score at least 3-4 runs off durbin i really do not know how much more of it i will be able to handle. but why should i expect the trend to end of bad pitchers looking like cy young against the sox. i mean he is 3-3 with and era of 11.77 ouch
just like when everyone or at least alot of people looked at shingo's st stats they thought he was gonna bomb. there was even some talk of him being sent down to triple a. but look now he may be orur best guy out of the pen we have at this point in the season.
isn't his velocity still down pretty bad from what it use to i read that not so long ago.and if its tru he is having that big of problems with his velocity that cannot help his chances
he was a 20 year old rookie as a fifth starter i read a post earlier that someone said they would be happy if we had a fifth starter with an era around five
4.52 era when he was 20 years old as there 4th or 5th starter was not to bad i would say but he have improved alot since then, i would say him or wells is the ace of the staff but im leaning towards peavy he has shown alot over the last 1 and a half.
yeah his first start it was just the opposite he pitched well through the first four then bam he got lit up. i think he will be pretty good for us some time in the near future
i think he is expecting so much because he sees other teams bring up there pitching prospects from there minor leauges and they are producing well right away. such as peavy, eaton, willis, webb, williams, prior, harden, etc
i never said tinkering the lineup was bad i just said that even though he did it hardly worked out until the latter part of the year when we were already 8-10 games out of it
i highly doubt that they will sned him back just yet he was againt one of the hottest hitting teams in baseball at this moment and he had to wait what an hour and a half just to get the game started. i say they give him one more shot if he does deecnt he will be sticking around
offensively i think ur right he tried all he could with flip flopping the line-up it just did not pan out the way we would have all hoped. he could not handle the pitchers at all though one game he wouldleave in a guy to long the next game he would take the guy out in the 5 after just giving up say one run was there a reason no just a bad managerial decision . oh and the bullpen don't if want to discuss how he used the bullpen
people have been say if he ever shortens his swing he will produce well, which is true but it just seems like he will never make it to the big leagues, at least as a full time starter because i guess he is just to damn stubborn to shorten his swing which will just equal into hundreds of strikeouts at the major league level and that in not acceptable
