  1. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 09:56 AM) I still think that if you add Boozer and a shooter like Allen, the Bulls could easily contend next year (assuming Lebron goes anywhere but Miami). I don't think there's any doubt, especially if Asik is joining the Bulls. Noah and Asik will provide fantastic defense in the post, and Boozer would be a great rebounder and solid scorer. Bulls would be able to compete with anyone in the East in my eyes. Rose Allen Deng Boozer Noah That's nasty.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 09:29 AM) LeBron can certainly sign with the Heat, but I hope he understand that means he officially will never be Michael Jordan, or even Kobe Bryant. Signing with Miami would do more damage to his brand even than showing how much of an egomaniac he is lately has. But at this point, it wouldn't surprise me. The only thing that could surprise me is if he signs with the Bulls. Assuming Lebron announces somebody other than Chicago tomorrow, Gar and Pax should both be fired. But this is Jerry Reinsdorf, so I'm not counting on it. I also wouldn't go out and overpay for mediocrity and use up a bunch of payroll on Carlos Boozer or David Lee. But they'll probably do that to try and save face, even though face can't be saved at this point. It's just like 10 years ago, the Bulls a free agent and general laughingstock. The only reason we're not maybe the worst team in the league right now is Derrick Rose was handed to us by the NBA in a probable fix. But we couldn't even make that worth something. Eh, having Magic, Kareem, and Worthy on the same teams didn't hurt any of them. The Celtics and Lakers piled up hall of famers on their rosters in the 70's and 80's and nobody will deny Larry Bird, Magic, or Kareem of being one of the top 10 players in history. If the Heat win 2 or 3 titles, Lebron-Wade-Bosh will clearly be the pecking order.
  3. Blazers are apparently interested in trading Andre Miller and Rudy Fernandex to the Heat for Beasley, Chalmers, and a 1st round pick. This is all contingent on LeBron not signing with the Heat. There would still be enough to sign Haywood or Jermaine O'Neal at C. That would be a very nice team.
  4. Chicago didn't do anything wrong. I just don't think Wade went into the process with any intention of leaving Miami. I think Chicago did a great job of making him think about it harder, but I also know Wade wanted some drama into their ridiculous documentary about the process.
  5. On a completely unrelated side note. I have been impressed with LeBron's tweets. He actually writes in complete sentences and doesn't use the ridiculous internet shorthand. Anyways, carry on.
  6. I'm excited that Wade and Bosh will be in Miami, but Wade's ego is yet another reason I haven't had a favorite player on the Heat since Caron Butler left. Heat need to add a PG like Felton and a center like Haywood to truly compete this year. If the Bulls get Boozer and a SG like Redick, it's going to be a hell of a battle in the East. I have said all along LeBron's personality "fits" with NY, so I won't be surprised if he's a Knick with Amar'e.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) I can out-type anyone on any phone with my old school brick blackberry. I was better on that than an actual keyboard. I type about 100 WPM on a regular keyboard, but on my Droid phone it's about 10 words per minute it seems. I'm waiting for the talk-to-text feature to be further refined. That will be a great help for me.
  8. At least we finally get to see Threets I guess.
  9. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 09:01 PM) Man. We have 3 really awful pitchers in our bullpen. Like awful awful We have the worst pitcher in baseball in our pen for some ridiculous reason and our jackass manager decides to lead the inning off with him in a 2 run game.
  10. Ozzie is the only surprised person in the ballpark. God I love him.
  11. Steve WILL 100% NOT be playing beside Tony on the SoxTalk boards.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:52 AM) I'm sure he'll go there to be the 3rd highest paid player on the team, and maybe even have to take even less than the max he could take somewhere other than Cleveland. Good luck filling out the rest of that team too. As good as LeBron, Bosh, and Wade are, they can't even win a ring with literally a bunch of minimum salary guys around them. And i'm still not sure that works capwise. Wade and Bosh wouldn't be paid any more than LeBron. It's just that Wade and Bosh would have a 6th year on the contract worth about 30M potentially. Not being tied down for 6 years might be an attractive thing for LeBron. Who knows. It's still a long ass time until July 8th.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:44 AM) A Bosh sign and trade means he gets the extra 30 something million since he's technically signing at first with Toronto. That'd make it hard to afford all 3 of them since two would be true max deals. And even if they could (and I don't think they could), they'd almost literally have no money for anybody else. I think a Bosh sign and trade to Miami helps the Bulls chances. But it puts them 100 percent, all in on one guy. If they don't get that guy, they're doomed to mediocrity (or worse) for a very long time. A Bosh sign and trade with Beasley involved is just about the only way Miami could afford 3 max deal guys. If Miami could also shed Anthony and Chalmers as well, it could clearly be enough room for 3 max guys. However, the entire rest of the roster would be filled out with the 4 second round picks this year and veteran minimum guys wanting a championship shot. Keyon Dooling and Raja Bell are rumored to be two of those guys.
  14. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 09:31 AM) Royce White visiting ISU today, final 3 of Baylor, Kentucky and Iowa State. I would NOT want to be part of that recruiting duo of $chool$.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 10:38 AM) Alright, here's another way to phrase this. When's the last time a team had three, THREE top 10 players? Because I'd definitely consider Bosh a top 10 player. Closest I can think of is Lakers with Magic, Kareem, and James Worthy in 85-87.
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 10:11 AM) I do agree with the other posts that say this won't effect their decision but I agree with you 100%. All 3 of those guys in Miami have to make Stern and the NBA execs cringe, it could create a super team that actually hurts the sports growth in other cities. People keep saying this and I just don't get it. The Lakers with Kobe, Artest, and all the post depth would give the Heat major problems. The Thunder and Blazers are going to have a ridiculous amount of talent the next few years as well. Having Jordan and the Bulls dominate the league, or the Celtics and Lakers dominate the league certainly wasn't a bad thing for the NBA's ratings.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:19 AM) Unless you have some inside information, continuing to say this means nothing. And, really, it's not any more persuasive than the argument that Lebron wouldn't want to play under the shadow of MJ. Miami has to be intriguing to these guys. Wade, Bosh and Lebron playing for Riley is better than anything else in the league. Problem is, they'd have no one else to rely on. If one of those guys gets hurt, they become a good but not great team. Plus as others have said, they'd all have to take a little less money, which may or may not be a concern, no one knows. Might not be a concern after all. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-h...0,1501758.story As for one getting injured, it wouldn't mean much. With just Wade leading the way the Heat were a 47 win team. Two superstars would be 50+ wins.
  18. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 07:02 AM) Miami fans are getting so damn cocky and it's annoying as hell. People are retarded if they are getting cocky over something that is far from 100%. If Beasley gets traded soon, then I'll start to believe it a little more. I don't see these guys taking a discount to play in Miami.
  19. I still think the Bulls and Knicks are the two main players for LeBron. If the Knicks pull in LeBron and a guy like Haywood, it could make a lot of sense in LeBron's eyes. PG. Toney Douglas SG. LeBron SF. Chandler PF. Gallinari C. Haywood Eddy Curry's 11M is expiring next year for more help. LeBron would get to dominate the ball, the spotlight, and have a proven coach, as well as a 3 point guy in Gallinari. Who's going to demand the ball in that situation? Douglas, Chandler, and Haywood will mainly play their roles as defenders and rebounders, while Gallinari spots up for open jumpers. I think it makes a lot of sense for him.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 10:33 AM) Beasley would clearly be sent out in a S&T or so I'd assume. I won't lie, I'd be heartbroken if that happened. I really don't think Riley is going to trade Beasley at this point. The Heat have enough to offer 3 guys 15.333M a year, which would be about 1.17M short of what LeBron, Wade, and Bosh could receive in max deals from what I understand. I still think LeBron ends up in Chicago, though I think Bosh will be in Miami.
  21. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 08:40 AM) maybe because it's fresh and anti-bulls, but this report worries me, although wasn't SJS the one who completely bungled a lot of the Iverson stuff this season? Basically he was reporting something about Iverson's future and said it was from his camp and it ended up being the complete opposite of what happened? Any word on what camp this source is from? If it's from Wade's or Bosh's that makes me feel a little better As a Heat fan, I'm not going to give a ton of comforting words :-P. However, this DID come from Stephen A. Smith. I just laughed it off and said "sure."
  22. Stephen A. Smith reporting that Lebron and Bosh are headed to Miami. http://twitter.com/stephenasmith Oh what a fun time this week will be.
  23. LOL, Toronto apparently hasn't had enough of lazy UNC players.
  24. Udoh here, that would be a nice over-draft.
  25. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 03:06 PM) There is no way in hell LeBron wants to share the spotlight with Wade. Wade has already stated that he would gladly be the #2 if Lebron came to Miami. But I'm not holding my breath.
