  1. QUOTE (mataipaepae @ May 28, 2013 -> 02:27 AM) santiago should be pitching over him and axelrod to be honest. let quintana and axelrod be the 5th and 6th starter. Nah. We need to limit our talented pieces to the bullpen.
  2. Cooper screaming on the mound. Funny thing is, it looked like it was directed at Flowers.
  3. How did that not go out? Qs ERA is so skewed this year. So many unearned, earned runs.
  4. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 26, 2013 -> 10:09 PM) Apples to oranges. Chris Sale ERA when moved to the pen: 2.81 Hector Santiagos ERA when moved to pen: 2.81
  5. Oh god, we now have actually resorted to using team W/L when talking about who should be a starter. Come on Soxtalk, you are better than that!
  6. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 26, 2013 -> 10:58 PM) Not only that Ax has more starts than any WS pitcher since Peavy and Sale have been scratched once each. He's been the glue. This is gold. We now have to resort to a guy being the "glue" while ignoring just about every possible statistical evidence that clearly proves who the better option is. I like Axelrod, and dont mind him in the rotation. Just not at the expense of a far better, more talented player. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 26, 2013 -> 10:59 PM) What lesson should they have learned from Sale's 1 relief appearance last year? Uh, did you forget that whole debacle or something? How about that such a talented player is far more valuable as a starter rather than reliever. How much worse a team are we with Sale in the pen compared to being a starter? A lot.
  7. You think the Sox would learn their lesson after trying to make Sale a reliever last year. Nope, the stupidity is still present.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 26, 2013 -> 10:48 PM) This is correct. I personally can't believe Axelrod is getting major league hitters out, but he is doing his job. The Sox need bullpen help. Santiago can handle that, and has shown he doesn't need long to get back to throwing 110 pitches a game. It is really key that we have the best long reliever in the game! Haha.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 26, 2013 -> 10:39 PM) Yes. The 1-4 record in his St decision clearly indicates he being in the rotation is and will be the reason for any White Sox success this year. It was a joke on his completely inane comment that the Sox record has anything to do with this stupid decision.
  10. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 26, 2013 -> 09:06 PM) Keep beating that drum while the Sox keep winning. Yes. They happened to have a nice May. Which coincides with Santiago becoming a srarter. No surprise there.
  11. If Santiago was pitching, we would be winning.
  12. Sox prove to be clueless again, to the surprise of no one.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 25, 2013 -> 11:09 PM) A 6 p.m. game on FOX? Really? I thought hey always had national control of the 12-6 p.m. Saturday afternoon window, but that was the extent of it. Bumped for soccer today.
  14. ITT people actually try to defend the decision to diminish the role of a talented starter with a sub 3 ERA. Proof that some will defend anything. In the very least, we need to stop f***ing with the development of one of the most valuable and talented players in our organization. Oh well, back to having the most talented mop up man in the game. How valuable! .
  15. What an absolute joke if true. However not surprising from this often clueless organization.
  16. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ May 23, 2013 -> 09:54 PM) Every time I see Casper Wells I go, "That guy's on our team?" And I know he's on our team, it's just that I don't care so powerfully that I forget to not be surprised. I have the same reaction. One of the most forgettable Sox players ever, and that's saying something in a thread about Angel Sanchez. I at least always remembered Sanchez was on the roster. Wells did have that cool catch the other night, so he is making an effort to make himself remotely memorable.
  17. So are Casper Wells and Tyler Green now fighting to the death for the last roster spot?
  18. Despite even more misuse by the White Sox, #TeamSantiago is looking good again.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2013 -> 04:04 AM) I still believe he could be effective if he just pitches in one inning. I meant to write up a thread on this today, about his 1st inning vs. 1+inning splits.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 23, 2013 -> 03:58 AM) I take it the fans at games aren't overly into this team ... again. Nobody expected the boys to post a comeback? Oops. My bad. Thought the crowd would be better. Sale scratch and terrible weather men played a big part, but still.
