Eaton might be the worst on the team at chasing breaking pitches in the dirt

Because Tony doesn’t want robot umps so why draw attention to bad umpires. The sooner people realize he returned to try to fix the game and not necessarily help the Sox win, the easier it is to figure out why he’s doing things.

He took the job to “change the game”, Olin and simple. Everyone thinks he’s had a bad week but I guarantee you he’s had an erection for days after Parcells said he agrees with him.

Really wish they would just let Grandal bat 8th or 9th. No reason he should bat in a traditional driving in runners spot. Can’t believe he still has another two full seasons.

That’s also taking into account pre-injury Eaton. He’s much less effective now.

Lineup is just so mediocre right now against RHP. Cole was always going to be tough, but you look up and down the lineup and the lack of power is striking.

Richard Rodriguez and Daniel Hudson would be great fits. Hell, give me Adam Frazier at 2b over Madrigal.

Not expecting a win today, but would find it as a net positive if Cease pitches well and looks like he belongs.

Like if he came out and said Heuer and Bummer were unavailable, then that would make a little more sense. Saying he had Heuer up in case of trouble is ridiculous. Was he waiting for the bases to be loaded!

I agree completely with this. Some of the best decisions don’t work out well. I think what pisses so many of us off is that he’s making terrible decisions that are having the bad results they deserve. If Hendriks comes in and gives up a homer in the 9th, we are mad at Hendriks and not Tony.

He has the rare ability to make you feel worse about the thought process instead of better understanding why he did what he did.

Also, I love playing for the 10th inning and not even making it to the inning.

With Timmy slowing down big time and Mercedes not hitting like a future HOF, Tony’s choices will be even more in the spotlight. Really wish Hahn and company get proactive and give the lineup a boost.

Second game they blew quickly in the bottom of the 9th due to pitching Foster or Marshall instead of Hendriks.

I watch way too many baseball games every day around the league. You almost never see a manager pitch the worst reliever on their roster in the 9th inning of a tie game.
