Agreed, and don’t confuse me predicting with what will happen with what I want to have happen. Ideally they would spend money on Bauer, but that won’t happen.

They aren’t cutting payroll IMO, which in today’s baseball is meaningful. It seems they will add to the payroll but only short-term in terms of years. I’ve never considered Springer or Bauer to be realistic for this reason.

Why is it so hard for some to understand that Lynn is a bonafide TOR starter that costs 8 million if you trade for him. Meanwhile number 5 starters are getting more than that in free agency. It’s easy to see why that path is more intriguing to Jerry.

If they do go after Joc, I just hope they do their homework on how he hits the type of pitchers the Sox will see in their division. I know Joc handles velocity very well, but I hope he’s able to hit the type of pitches he would see against the Twins and Indians.
