  1. I deleted it because I saw the 3rd base comps, which he's improved upon. Almost all his errors have been due to having to speed up, which is likely due to inexperience there. I still stand by my belief they will upgrade there this offseason and I think it's Moustakas or bust.

13 base runners in 5.1 innings for Fulmer. Really wish they would just make him a two inning reliever. Just wasting development time right now.
  3. About half of the guys you mentioned are pretty low ceiling guys though. Henzman, Foster and Flores aren't exactly highly thought of. I like Henzman as a sinker ball reliever though, but doubt he has the velocity to be a starter.
  4. Timmy with a good defensive game so far
  5. Palka plays entirely too deep. Not a fan of Lopez having Palka in RF and Omar catching.
  6. Because of the highly optimistic thread on soxtalk today. And of the guys you mention, I still don't think you can field a 5 man MLB rotation. For or the record, I think the 5 man rotation to start next year consists of Rodon, Lopez, Covey, Dunning and a free agent. They aren't going to promote Kopech until he turns it around.
  7. When's last time he hit a ball hard to left? He did that a lot last year it seemed. Time for our hitting coach to earn his money with the two main young players in horrible slumps.
  8. Needs to stay healthy and come two full seasons for now, do they look to unload him due to impending free agency?
  9. My god Yoan is bad right now. Takes two fastballs for strikes, yanks fastball foul, misses changeup by a foot. He continues to pull off everything.
  10. Yeah I don't get how hitters don't seem to get fooled more by his change up. Have to wonder if he telegraphs it.
  11. No I think he's shown enough progression in terms of maintaining his velocity of late that he should be a starter going forward. He's easily the main guy currently in the rotation that I project to be in it two years from now
  12. We got bad Lopez tonight. Just remember, we have too much pitching . His change up is not very good this season.
  13. Lopez with great stuff in first. Moncada late on an 88 mph fastball up 2-0 in count.
  14. And then repeated again with Burdi
  15. Yeah unless someone in AAA has a magic potion for him to regain his velocity and curve spin rate, there's not a lot of hope for him right now. No way can you compared Giolito and Kopech.
  16. Right there is what I was told a month back regarding Kopech. His velocity seems down to someone who saw him last year and now this year. Obviously it's still a very good fastball, but it's not the plus-plus consistent velocity like many thought he could be. That's where his ability to command it comes into play. I still remember a few weeks back when they showed 3 strikeouts he had as highlights during a Sox game. Something that stuck out to me was he missed his spot on all 3 by about a foot.
  17. Cease went 8 innings. Threw 99 mph on pitch 101. Was getting a lot of swings and misses on his change up.
  18. 83 thru 7 for Cease. Love how he's been limiting his pitches per inning of late
  19. Clearly Kopech needs to get back with Brielle. He's closer to being a AA pitcher than major leaguer. As for Grudz, he's a horrible manager. Been saying that since last year when he would sit on his ass as his players were getting screwed over constantly by strike zones, etc.
  20. I'm sure others will disagree, but sometimes I wish the Sox had him and Rodon just focus on perfecting their fastball command and slider instead of being so focused on developing a change up. Just looked it up, and Kluber basically has two versions of his fastball and two of his slider. Besides that, he throws change up only 6 pct of time (1 pct to righties). What he's done though is perfected his command of the pitches.
  21. His control is hideous right now. 3 walks, HBP and 3 wild pitches. He's not even close to the zone from what I've seen.
  22. Maybe back off the plate a bit? He's getting hurt on inside fastballs that he thinks are balls.
  23. Until he gets his command in order, keep him in AAA. Proud of the Sox for being so patient with him

    He was untouchable
  25. Timmy is just awful at the plate. Taking his walks but looks clueless vs sliders. Him and Yoan in a race to who gets below .200 first. This comes on a day where Ricky said both guys need to be mentally prepared for every pitch.
