  1. It's pretty freaking awful. The gap between Anderson and Adams or Fulmer is gigantic. Fulmer might be having one of the worst years in the minors for a top 100 prospect.
  2. There was statistically about a 5 pct chance that Perez would walk in that situation. We aren't taking about someone with a good eye at the plate
  3. Can I just say I love Todd Frazier though. Assuming they don't go into a rebuild, I hope they extend him
  4. QUOTE (harkness @ May 28, 2016 -> 04:40 AM) I predict we will finish 3rd in the Division. Hopefully they will make me eat crow... lets try some reverse karma. But yeah I'm expecting 3rd in the division. Tigers are better IMO. Deeper lineup
  5. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 28, 2016 -> 04:32 AM) It's gonna be Joe Crede. I KNOW it. Renteria, book it
  6. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ May 28, 2016 -> 04:30 AM) Do players respect him or take advantage of him? Who knows, all I know is he should have been fired after last year.
  7. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ May 28, 2016 -> 04:29 AM) I'm not saying he isn't, but besides Robertson, he's the highest leverage reliever this team has. Why on earth would you bring in a gas can to face their hottest hitter, when you can just as easily walk him and bring in your better reliever? It's almost as if he has some sort of managing manual he printed out from Wikipedia... "Lefty against lefty, I MUST make this move! Still annoyed Rollins was like 5 feet from 2nd when Escobar was up. How many times so far vs the Sox has he already hit the ball in the 5-6 hole? I get being at DP depth but he was way too far up the middle.
  8. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:20 AM) Just the idea that Jones did end up pitching in the 7th, but only after the lead was gone. I'm mesmerized by the stupidity involved in that thinking. And you don't worry about walking Perez and his 5 percent walk rate with the bases loaded.
  9. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:20 AM) That April looks like fool's gold. Honestly it is hard to judge a team after the first month since guys are still finding their groove and getting in the swing of things (no pun intended). Which is why spending a ton of money on Shields would be so stupid right now. Oh well, the farm system is so awful it doesn't matter who they give up outside of Anderson.
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 28, 2016 -> 04:14 AM) More pathetic home plate umping there That was so bogus the last 3 innings.
  11. Haha, didn't know it was Angel Hernandez. He should have been out of baseball a decade ago. Complete disgrace to the profession.
  12. This umpire has been horrendous the last 3 innings.
  13. Odds on a "you've got to be bleeping me" after the last out?
  14. Love this tweet: C.S. Ramza ‏@Ramza_2 5m5 minutes ago Robin Ventura is perplexed as to why Ned Yost didn't take out Herrera and bring in a lefty to face Adam Eaton. #WhiteSox
  15. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:55 AM) Albers should be released. No more Tony Pena clones. Not released, but not used in high leverage spots until he gets some confidence and command again.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2016 -> 02:53 AM) The idea that someone else should be able to get outs in the 7th isn't a defense, as much as it is common sense. We didn't say Jones should pitch the entire 7th and 8th. 4 outs is completely reasonable.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 28, 2016 -> 02:52 AM) And if they put Purke or Kahnle into the game and they get torched, everyone will be furious, too. That said, this Royals' line-up only has three legit hitters. I'm pretty sure no one on here had confidence in Albers
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2016 -> 02:51 AM) Because the three guys who pitched in front of him sucked. Again, someone besides Jones and Robertson should be able to get someone out in the 7th. If they can't, it doesn't really matter. They pitched to KC's best player by far. Even Hawk seems pissed about it. Jones is better than Duke, and Hosmer is better than Perez. I don't see how this is even a difficult decision.
  19. Quality at bats from our best hitters there
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2016 -> 02:49 AM) So everyone could cry for Robin to be fired when he burned up the pen? Wow, he's going to end up using Jones for 4 outs anyways
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2016 -> 02:47 AM) Burning up the two reliable guys in the first game of a series is not a smart idea. Of course if anyone else in the pen were actually doing their jobs, this wouldn't be an issue. Then why even warm up Jones at all in the 7th? Facing one extra batter isn't going to ruin him for the weekend.
  22. Joe Sheehan ‏@joe_sheehan 43s44 seconds ago My favorite part of the bottom of the seventh was Robin Ventura waiting until the lead was entirely blown to use Nate Jones. #whitesox
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2016 -> 02:43 AM) In that case who pitches the 8th? If you extend Jones for both innings, there is a decent chance you lose him for the rest of the series. He gets the last batter of 7th and then the 8th. If he gets in trouble, you have Robertson. Neither has pitched since Monday. He ended up coming in for the 7th anyways, so I don't see your argument.
  24. QUOTE (soxfan85 @ May 28, 2016 -> 02:42 AM) I hate this team, and I hate this coach. Watching this awful baseball season after season, watching this awful coach season after season, is getting ridiculous. Trade Sale & Quintana to a damn team that can win something, they deserve it. They are wasting their talent with this crappy organization. I wouldn't trust our FO and scouting to get a proper return for them, either. That is how inept they are at anything. Between Ventura, Hahn, Cooper and Steverson....they all could leave tomorrow and the organization wouldn't suffer. Ventura is choking worse than he did at the end of 2012.
