  1. They don't typically have press conferences unless it's a big name guy. Frazier would count as one, but Lawrie would not. With that said, I bet they don't have one for either.
  2. I think Frazier has something more important going on
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 19, 2015 -> 10:17 PM) Reggie Miller said his double vision lasted for 6 months after the same injury. Say what you will about Rose, he's never come across as a liar. Besides saying he took the ACT?
  4. QUOTE (scs787 @ Dec 19, 2015 -> 09:16 PM) I wonder if RV might use Abreu in the 2 again. Eaton CF Abreu 1B Cespedes RF/LF Fraizer 3B Melky RF/LF or LaRorche DH Lawrie 2B Melky or Laroche Catcher platoon Saladino SS I remember reading an article about having your best hitter bat 2nd. Also balances out the lineup a bit more. But it would seem to increase the chances Abreu would bat with no one on, as Saladino is much more likely to have a lower OBP than Melky
  5. Dakich is disgracing himself today calling the IU game. Has no right to call a player selfish for every poor play.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 19, 2015 -> 07:18 PM) They have Guerrero and Turner at 3B and A-Gon at first. I don't think they're looking for another power bat. They need pitching. Yep, they would have taken Frazier but Turner can't be moved to 2nd due to his knee issues
  7. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 19, 2015 -> 07:07 PM) Should Murphy have taken the QO? I just can't see teams lining up to give him $$ and forfeit a draft pick to do so. Still think he ends up with Angels
  8. Quentin was traded to SD around New Years
  9. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 09:15 PM) I explained why I disliked it. I guess $8 million or so over 3 years isn't too bad, but I'd rather have seen that money go towards an outfielder. I'm sure they wouldn't have made this deal if the 8 million dollars was the difference between bringing in another outfielder or not.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 10:25 PM) Is that a good idea? I don't think they want to platoon Holliday and Adams They seemed to have lost some faith in Adams. Wouldn't shock me if he's dealt to the Rockies with Marco Gonzales for Cargo
  11. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 09:05 PM) What does it mean that Holliday is getting time at 1B now? Is St. Louis having some kind of winter training camp? I read something that said he's practicing grounders at a 1B wherever he's training, but it's a big deal because he refused to consider this in the past. Considering how bad his defense is and the available outfielders, it makes all the sense in the world (especially with his bad legs)
  12. I know someone earlier mentioned the news that Holliday is getting reps at 1B now. To me, that's a great idea for the Cardinals. However, I think that instead of going after Gordon, they'll make a trade for Cargo
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 02:53 AM) He was Jeter's agent too, right? The guy has an almost impeccable reputation compared to some agents. Greinke and Heyward also. His family will get nice gifts for the holidays
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 12:58 AM) I just don't see how you can start by saying how consistent Upton is, and then cite one of his consistent stats and call it a red flag I wasn't the one who said he was consistent.
  15. QUOTE (Lillian @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 12:56 AM) You might have a different perspective, after viewing this chart and graph: http://www.hittrackeronline.com/detail.php...amp;type=hitter There actually were not very many "cheap" homers. Perhaps you just happened to see videos of the few that were not legitimate "bombs". That's 2014
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 12:53 AM) One less double, one more triple, and 6 less homers. I mean if you want to nitpick, whatever, but the guy still mashed. The cheapie home run stat is pretty lame Putting Laroche and Abreu on the same "falloff" plane using the cheapie home run stat is equally as lame Only reason I remember it is because one of the preseason magazines that has a unique stat for every team had the "lucky" homer top 5 for the Sox, since LaRoche and Abreu were 1-2. This stat was less about Abreu and more about a potential red flag with Upton.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 12:49 AM) Doesn't seem like it was a good indicator for abreu, the guy just completed back to back seasons that only Pujols matched Pretty decent drop in power though for him last year
  18. I started watching some Upton highlights from last year and something jumped off the screen to me...he hit a ton of cheap homers. I looked up the stats and he was near the top of the list for lucky/cheap homers. This was one of the warning signs that people had regarding LaRoche and Abreu after 2014. Upton's average home run distance was 10 feet less in 2015 than 2014. He's a good player, but his power is his main tool and if that starts to fade, you're looking at a bad contract possibly.
  19. Levine getting ripped on twitter for being wrong about this tweet: Bruce Levine ‏@MLBBruceLevine 2h2 hours ago White Sox smartly held off sending out season ticket renewals until big addition of Frazier .
  20. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 12:20 AM) Bob Nightengale on MLBN just said Sox are perfect landing spot for Justin Upton. Just spent a couple minutes talking about it. Did he mention other teams that might be involved with Upton?
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 10:59 PM) Kyle Murray, QB Texas A&M, is quitting football, transferring to a JuCo, and will play baseball, looking to get drafted next year. I believe he is a MI Headcase
  22. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 10:13 PM) You're kidding,...right? Damn, I saw you posted and was hoping for some scoop
  23. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 10:11 PM) Baez and Soler for Gray. Can't see the A's saying no to that haul Maybe if they add Schwarber to that package
  24. Amazing how bitter the Score seems towards the Sox today. Even the Score updates are finding a way to highlight "how much" the Sox gave up for Frazier. I have a feeling things are going to get ugly between the franchise and the Cubbie Radio Network
