GAME THREAD 8/23: SOX @ SEA
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 23, 2015 -> 10:41 PM) I know it shouldn't but it does amaze me how many seem irritated when Danks pitches well,a nd love to go on and on about him when he is pitching poorly. He is a 5th starter. Look around the league. Not many of them are contending for a Cy Young. Way too long of a leash with him today given how awful he looked. For a team still trying to compete, just can't give up on a game by leaving him in to allow 7

GAME THREAD 8/23: SOX @ SEA
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 23, 2015 -> 10:06 PM) Sox dugout appears dead. Not much life in these dog days. Guys seem rather late to get on deck as well. Definitely a flat performance

Danks just sucks. Soto also calls a terrible game, but at least Cooper has sat on his ass all inning

Out of curiosity, when is last time Avi or Abreu pulled a fastball for a homer?

6 outs, 4 homers. Cubs might score 20 today. Have a feeling we might see a position player pitch for the Braves.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 23, 2015 -> 08:01 PM) You gotta use the wind to out slug them which the Tigers did, but the Braves have no chance with this ugly lineup . Getting Castro out of the lineup has really helped them as well. They basically replaced one of the worst hitters in all of baseball with one of the best so far in his early career. Also, Schwarber would now be tied for 2nd most homers on the Sox in almost 300 less at bats than Avi

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 23, 2015 -> 06:45 PM) Do the Cubs hit 90% of their HRs at home? Feels like it. Bryant is a superstar at home and a below-level replacement player on the road. Like I said yesterday, with the wind blowing out as hard as it is, this lineup is impossible to shut down.

Another 2 homers in the first for the Cubs today. Seems like everyone in their lineup is currently on fire. Hopefully Cardinals remember how to score, as Cubs/Pirates are quickly closing on the NL Central lead.

Great comeback. Lots of positives with Rodon and Trayce leading the way

GAME THREAD 8/22: SOX @ SEA
Already annoyed with Soto's pitch selection

GAME THREAD 8/22: SOX @ SEA
Really impressed by Sanchez's technique on the bunt. Also, why the lack of excitement by Hawk there?

GAME THREAD 8/22: SOX @ SEA
Rodon not getting much help from the offense these days. His command has been brutal tonight.

Jackson finally helps Cubs win. Braves are a disgrace, they have lost 21 of last 23 on road.

The conundrum in the infield
Rockies will build around Arenado, not trade him. They got rid of Tulo and will get rid of CarGo. It does them no good to get rid of their only other superstar just to bring in a pitcher.

Just as every replay goes against the Sox, the Cubs continue to get the benefit on so many close replays. The guy blatantly reached over the yellow line...same thing that happened earlier this week with Miggy's homer that was overturned.

The way this Cubs offense is, they are just incredible if the wind is blowing out. Lots of base runners with a lot of power.

The conundrum in the infield
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 22, 2015 -> 09:04 PM) Name 5 players better than him. I mean, he brings elite defense and elite offense. Over Arenado, I'd take Goldschmidt, Trout... that's really it. Maybe Harper too. just for argument's sake, he's 21st in fWAR. And you wouldn't take Harper over him? You put Harper in Colorado, and he hits 60 a year.
