  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 20, 2014 -> 02:26 AM) Seems this game was doomed as soon as we only scored 1 run with the bases loaded. Why did they throw him a cutter again? First RBI's for Wilson since Opening Day. Most runs allowed in the American League by far.
  2. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 20, 2014 -> 02:26 AM) Jose was not good at all today His fastballs down a little bat from last year. I can't believe the bottom of the Rangers lineup, which resembles a AAA team, is destroying the Sox.

Micah Johnson making very few outs of late.
  4. Seems like quite the challenge for the Sox to score right now. Gonna need a 3-run homer by someone to get the offense going again.
  5. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 20, 2014 -> 02:07 AM) 90% of his at bats he does it. And he usually does it on an 0-0 count or hitters count. I guess they don't have sliders in Cuba? The league has adjusted to him, so it's time for him to make some adjustments.
  6. Hopefully the jinx works, but outside of one game, the Sox haven't homered on the road. If they don't homer tonight, it would be 7 of 8 games.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2014 -> 02:06 AM) That's ok on this team, our manager doesn't care. Other teams that might not fly. Following the captain's lead.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 09:56 PM) I just wonder how much picking up a guy like Liriano and having him flourish is actually good scouting and how much of it is just good luck. It doesn't seem any one team does a whole lot better picking up these guys than others. Tampa with their bullpen is the best it seems.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 09:48 PM) At some point I just got tired of repeating this. Hopefully when it's September and 3/5 of the rotation is Rienzo, Axelrod and Surkamp, we won't have to keep repeating it.
  10. Danks playing in LF tonight for ADA. Nice to see Eaton's healthy enough to start.
  11. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 08:39 PM) That's a good one right there! But, on the other hand we went from a pitching strength (bright spot) last year to really struggling early this year. Especially the pen. What happened and tell me it ain't so Joe?. Well for starters, they traded Peavy and Santiago and replaced them with Erik Johnson and Paulino. The trades were good ones and made sense, but still doesn't mean it didn't destroy the pitching depth. As someone said earlier, it's fine the depth is bad because this team isn't trying to compete this year.
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 09:25 PM) Veal outrighted to Charlotte, so he stays in the organization. He'll be back when they place Downs on the DL if his struggles continue.
  13. As greg would say, the Sox have to stop getting ex-Royals.
  14. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 08:24 PM) For every Francisco Liriano 2012 there's a Francisco Liriano 2013. That's called the National League

I can't recall a "cheap" home run by Hawkins the last two years.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 08:17 PM) Trade value and Paulino don't go in the same sentence. Ever. Let alone after he just missed a year. It was a miscalculation. Sometimes tying to be clever and picking up injured broken down players cheap works. Most of the time it does not. For every Scott Feldman, there's a Scott Baker.
  17. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 05:55 PM) Rienzo doesn't even need to be "good" to be better than Paulino was. I wonder if Paulino is going on the DL or just getting sent down. Make him the long reliever...too early to give up on him for good as being a useful piece.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 05:50 PM) Coop will fix him. Why isn't Cooper getting any crap for crap pitchers pitching crappy? The 2 previous hitting coaches did and we read about all the wonderful pitchers the Sox develop. Bullpen reminds me of 2007 where they brought in a lot of guys with good stuff and thought he could fix them.
  19. I bet Jonah Keri regrets that article about the Sox offense. Just a disgusting effort tonight.
  20. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 02:30 AM) Same with Peavey? Not at all, that was to get some good cost-controlled talent into the organization.
  21. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 02:24 AM) All Hahn could get for Rios was L. Garcia? Plain and simple, it was a salary dump
  22. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 03:15 AM) PK since his 1st AB as a PH has done nothing. This is such a wasted use of a roster spot. His bat flips are going farther than the ball does in the air.
  23. Beede got crushed again tonight. He better not even be in consideration for the 3rd pick.
  24. Abreu is so pull happy ever since he hit those 4 homers. Might be time to shuffle the lineup around.
  25. Looks like I missed another fine performance by Paulino. To me, it's pretty obvious he sucks. The bigger concern is how bad the offense looks right now.
