QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 03:23 AM) That really sucks if that's true. L. Garcia should be busting ass. Everytime I've seen Phegs run, he busts ass. I like that about Phegley. Who knows, maybe Leury thought it was going to be foul (even though it was caught in fair territory). Everything we've seen before that from Leury was pure hustle.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 04:20 AM) RV has to go nobody wants him back. Anyone notice Leury Garcia not start running to first on an lazy pop up? Good to see the veterans and their piss-poor effort has reached the young guys.

The thing to consider with Beckham is if Semien could put up a similar OPS at 2nd base for a significantly cheaper amount. Beckham is now hitting .209 since the ASB.

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 02:41 AM) If the Sox lose tomorrow, Robin Ventura will have managed his last 162 games at 62-100. Just remember, Dwyane Wade said Reinsdorf wasn't loyal.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 02:57 AM) Cannot wait till he is shown the door non tendered. They better trade him instead of just letting him go for free. They can't afford to lose one of their few MLB-caliber offensive players for nothing.

Were there actual reports that Avi Garcia was supposed to be good defensively?

Hopefully this lineup with a bunch of the young guys can score a few runs tonight. Danks' continues to be a home run machine out there.

Avi slumping of late. He has a lot of holes in his swing that hopefully they close up next year. This was a very depressing game with regards to our offense. But hey, we're acquiring Cabrera and Trout this offseason!

The more he struggles down the stretch, maybe he'll retire?

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 02:59 AM) it's really shocking how poor these young Sox hitters are . I havent seen so many swings and misses and down and away breaking pitches that miss the strike zone by a foot. The Sox desperately need to get some more left-handed bats into the organization. It's one of the biggest reasons they shouldn't trade De Aza.

Leury with a great game tonight. Semien has to lay off those low offspeed pitches.

9/10 vs Tigers
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 04:52 AM) That curve looked nasty at some points. He definitely needs to throw it more, as too many of his pitches are hard.

9/10 vs Tigers
This was a bad game, as all the young players struggled.

9/10 vs Tigers
My quick thoughts on Johnson: - I don't like his wind-up, as I worry about him being able to repeat his delivery - His fastball velocity was up today, which is great to see - Slider is far and away his best offspeed pitch - He needs to have better command of all of his pitches - His changeup is not MLB caliber

So are the Sox trying to make Leury Garcia a right-handed hitter only?
-
9/10 vs Tigers
Wow, this might be the worst individual defensive game I've ever seen. Hopefully this means more Semien going forward.

Could be 4 errors for him tonight

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 12:24 AM) You mean, if Cabrera had been correctly called out on strikes. PB by Phegley allowed runner to get to 3rd.

Technically none of these runs should be earned.

This defense is terrible. Gillaspie's making just a ton of errors of late. With that said, that 1-2 pitch was certainly a strike.
