Paul Konerko: Mild Concussion
Some more information on the injury. Might be best to put him on the 7 day DL and get him back next Wednesday. Hope there are no lingering issues. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...,0,788300.story

Paul Konerko: Mild Concussion
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 9, 2012 -> 04:28 AM) That weak bench got us Youk, Liriano, and Myers. Yes, but you can't get complacent with an awful bench with the hope you won't have to use the guys often. The time is now to get someone useful off of waivers in case an injury takes place after August ends. Youk seems like he's going to have to be benched at least once a week. If they do DL PK, I wonder if they call up Wise or CoJack?

Paul Konerko: Mild Concussion
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 9, 2012 -> 03:11 AM) How many AL teams have great benches? If the Sox come up short, it won't be because of a weak bench. They might not have great benches, but the Sox bench has been almost worse than you can imagine. Our non-core players of ADA, Youk, Beckham, Rios, Dunn, Konerko, AJ, Morel, Ramirez and Viciedo are: 86 for 439 (.196) with 3 home runs With Youk saying he's had lingering soreness in his knee, it's imperative they get someone that can back him up if needed.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 9, 2012 -> 04:04 AM) How did he get a concussion? Dyson accidentally made contact to his face on a grounder last night. I'm sure greg will suggest a lie detector test for Dyson.

Supposedly Ventura announced in the post game that PK has a mild concussion. If they need to, Sox can put him on the 7 day concussion list. Kenny, get us another bat!

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Aug 9, 2012 -> 02:50 AM) well the royals will keep the white sox from the playoffs once again....that series was f***ing pathetic. It's way too early to say this. It's so much more likely the Sox playoff chances will be determined by the remaining 7 games against the Tigers.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 9, 2012 -> 03:48 AM) 8 inning 5 hits no runs. Frame this Guthrie, it isn't happening again. Well, he might face the Sox 3 more times this year

Two meatballs for Alexei to crush that AB. Awful performance by the offense tonight. Please get the bench some help Kenny!

Alexei actually had a great pitch to hit there. He's been in a bit of a funk of late as well.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 9, 2012 -> 02:34 AM) People say this crap when the offense is slumping, it's called baseball. We're missing two of our best hitters tonight and a s***ty pitcher is throwing a good game against us, so yes, they're going to look unmotivated, I guarantee that's not the case. Lots of incredibly weak first pitch outs tonight definitely added to the perception that they weren't focused.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 9, 2012 -> 02:33 AM) Tigers up 4. Even if we lose, we still have possession of first. Be nice if the Orioles would lose a few games this weekend, as they're on quite the roll as well.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 9, 2012 -> 02:31 AM) Dunn could hit .150 with a .280OBP and he won't shake from the 3 hole. They are going to hope that he just figures it out again. And he also gets to play nearly every game no matter what

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 9, 2012 -> 02:29 AM) The guys just look lazy to me, they show up from the start unready to play. Thats what it looks like to me. Maybe they're missing some competitive fire in the clubhouse, or maybe the manager is not motivating them enough. Early in the game, it was obvious they were flat tonight. Something just seemed off, and I think we really miss Rios' presence in the lineup. His swagger at the plate has been amazing of late.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 9, 2012 -> 02:26 AM) The Astro's series at home, the cubs series at home. Or losing a game to the Tigers when you led 6-0 with Peavy on the mound?
