  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 06:47 PM) well, we got our split. At worse...Sox match-up well tomorrow vs Hughes IF Ventura plays it correctly. Regardless, a split is great and go Orioles/Tampa
  2. Any chance Adam Warren can pitch next inning for the Yankees?
  3. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 06:45 PM) .213 Hitless in 8 of last 12 games
  4. Good news is it looks like KC will lose the first game of DH
  5. Missing those pitches by a foot
  6. Both teams should get a warning
  7. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 06:35 PM) Let's get on the board Best chance for a big inning, IMO
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 06:34 PM) I don't think it's as bad as you think. The way it moves on screen is not necessarily indicative of how deceptive it is. I am guessing it's a pretty damn good pitch since we aren't seeing the spin on it all and many of the guys missing it are good breaking ball hitters. There is a point where too much break on a slider hurts the effectiveness since it differentiates itself from the fastball too much. Well, Hawk and Stone are saying they have no idea how the hitters are missing it either.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 06:31 PM) Wise could not play dead offensively with the Sox. He wasn't bad in 2008, and then pressed too much as leadoff hitter in 2009 and never recovered
  10. Well, at least next team Peavy faces doesn't have a lot of lefties.
  11. Invisible bats so far today. Lots of misses on that hanging slider.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 07:22 PM) If each game had about 10 strikeouts, that's a $15k donation. Strasburg going today
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 06:20 PM) Wow, Jake giving away $100 per strikeout around the league today. That's kinda cool actually. Indeed, very cool. Also it's cool that our hitters are doing their best to help with the strikeout totals
  14. Kuroda making it look easy. Unreal amount of swing and misses.
  15. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 06:01 PM) Jake throwing junk today. Just like his last game. His velocity seems fine, so I don't think it's due to the high pitch count game vs the Cubs two starts ago.
  16. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 05:59 PM) White Sox offense is sleeping in today. Kuroda has great location so far, and Sox just aren't a good match-up for him. That happens sometimes, just like how Yankees aren't a good match-up for Peavy. Hard to get greedy after winning the first two with Axelrod and Quintana on the mound.
  17. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 06:53 PM) Opposing batters have an OPS of .435 when facing Peavy when Flowers is catching. With AJ, .650 That's a great stat, where did you find it
  18. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 06:50 PM) Righties 0-4, Lefties 4-6 Everything has been away to those lefties also. He struggled big time against lefties in his last start as well.
  19. Peavy is just meat to lefties today. Needs to work in more change-ups, as everything is hard.
  20. This is how Peavy looked in San Diego when facing righties. Mercy
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 06:47 PM) Thankfully, that's something Youk will learn. He's never had to play at Yankee Stadium before, right?
  22. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 06:46 PM) What is Youk doing out there He's not had a very good series against his old rivals.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 06:46 PM) LOL, Youk didn't have that one either. Nice play by Alexei. Bad back, bad stomach, bad vision I guess
  24. Looking at Peavy's career splits, it's amazing how consistent his lefty/righty splits have been except for last year. He really has destroyed righties in his career.
  25. Let's hope Ventura doesn't play the Sunday reserve lineup tomorrow against Hughes, as that lineup has a lot of lefties in it. Hughes has been torched by righties this season.
