  1. I'm pretty sure the Sox have had the lead in every game since the ASB.
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) Toronto having no problem hitting Lester without Bautista 9 runs in 2 innings..............Sox should of smoked that guy. Ha, they did
  3. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 07:29 PM) Maybe the team IS just tired, who knows? I think Ventura will learn from this season how to better mix and match the bench into the lineup.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 07:28 PM) I just hope we're not paying Myers essentially $6.5 million to be a set-up guy for 2 months. The Astros better be paying that buyout money. Sox are paying him 1 million dollars this year
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:27 PM) ADA needs to sit a few days. He's hit the ball with some authority at least. You really want to see Danks get more at bats in CF?
  6. Youk looks awful at the plate all of a sudden.
  7. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:25 PM) This. They have pitching staff sucks beside JV and defense is bad as well. There's a reason why the season is 162 games. Their bullpen is underrated, as everyone focuses on Valverde but Benoit has been outstanding since the ASB last year. Villareal has been quite the find for them.
  8. Beckham with a really good swing there. He's pulled the ball with authority the last few games.
  9. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:22 PM) Worst Sox bench I can remember. Outside of not coming into the season with a back-up 3rd baseman, I thought the bench would be a strong point for the team.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:22 PM) Not only that, but our bench has been exposed this week. That Escobar mistake was a huge one in the 9th the other night. The bench has been shockingly bad all year. Escobar's been good on defense all season though.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:21 PM) When the situations he came in really made no difference whether he pitched well or not. +10000000000000000000, and when the hitters might be a little less focused.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:20 PM) Seriously, Humber should not be in the rotation. Can't they skip his next start if they want?
  13. QUOTE (Caesar @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 07:17 PM) He has the responsibility to shake the lineup up. Move people around. He isn't doing it. I've been advocating putting Rios 3rd, but that wouldn't do much to help out since ADA and Youk aren't reaching base. Beckham should be benched, but do you really think Hudson can provide a spark? Not likely
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 07:17 PM) They're still in the top half of the AL in runs scored. It's simply the fact that we're ice cold now and DET is playing like the best team in baseball. We ran over the Cleveland Indians when they were in a similar position. We were hot and they were cold. Playing 16 out of 19 on the road is suicide. Thursday's game didn't help. But it's not over yet by any stretch of the imagination. This is a great post. Unfortunately, when the Tigers are playing like they are right now, they might be the toughest team in baseball to beat. It happens, and you have to hope the Sox can recover against the Twins.
  15. QUOTE (C_LEE45 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:13 PM) no we cant score runs and we have no manager!!!!!! I have a lot of questions about how Ventura has handled things for a few weeks now, but no manager in baseball could win when his offense performs this poorly.
  16. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 07:12 PM) I don't know, but it's their best chance over the next 2-3 years. Probably, but we also said the same thing last year. I'm not saying you're wrong though, and a lot depends on whether or not Danks can recover or if he becomes our version of Mike Hampton.
  17. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:08 PM) I think the clock started ticking on KW after the Boesch homer. Question for you....do you think even with a solid starting pitcher acquisition that this team can contend with the Tigers the rest of the year?
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:07 PM) Oh, Santiago. Yay At least they're hopefully trying to stretch him out.
  19. Hopefully Ventura benches Dunn vs Liriano tomorrow. 0-7 with 4 K so far this year against him.
  20. I don't care if Sox end up losing, but hopefully we see some fight from this offense the rest of the way instead of giving up like they have of late.
  21. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:03 PM) You gotta be bleepin' me. How does Humber only give up 2 runs to Boston? Aren't the offenses of the Boston and Detroit both potent? That Red Sox lineup without Ortiz wasn't that dangerous.
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:02 PM) For the love of God, give Phillip Humber his release. I think he gets one more start. I worry about KW overpaying for a starting pitcher now though, especially if he doesn't necessary fill a hole by using Quintana to acquire one.
  23. If Yanks and Indians win today, we're still tied for the AL WC!
  24. Boesch is awesome right now. Bad decision to pitch to him with the open base.
  25. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:00 PM) There is no way Humber is better than Axelrod, and I really cringe when Axelrod is on the mound for the Sox. I'm no fan of Axelrod, but outside of the ridiculous 3 day rest start, I reluctantly have to agree with you. Axelrod has done a very impressive job against the top teams in the league.
