SOX S.O.S.: MUST STOP THE LOSING STREAK
It's clear he has no command of the fastball. Needs to start using the hook as his primary pitch.

SOX S.O.S.: MUST STOP THE LOSING STREAK
Gavin is working soooooooo slow tonight. Looks like he's fighting his mechanics.

SOX S.O.S.: MUST STOP THE LOSING STREAK
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 01:49 AM) I think Floyd has a good night. Command a little off early but stuff looks good. Lots of pitches though coming off of an extended break. If anything, he's throwing too hard.

SOX S.O.S.: MUST STOP THE LOSING STREAK
Could be much worse, nice just having the lead for an inning right now.

Huge crowd, nice to see

SOX S.O.S.: MUST STOP THE LOSING STREAK
Gavin's not long for this game. Starting pitching continues to do a terrible job of shutting down the opposition after the offense scores.

Tigers Acquire Sanchez and Infante from Marlins
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 11:11 PM) The Tigers are playing great baseball now too. I'm not sure how they aren't that good. They have the best 1/3/4 hitter combo in baseball. They also have the best #1 pitcher of any team in the playoff hunt for the AL. They have a lot of other great pieces fitting behind all of those players. Their rotation is as tough 1-5 as any team in all of baseball, plus a very good end of the pen. The weakness they have out there is their early pen guys. With that rotation, they can hide those guys pretty nicely, like the Sox did early this year when their rotation was pitching well. Hawk and Stone said this yesterday, but Villareal and Below have been outstanding for them this year. It looks like they finally got their bullpen figured out by getting rid of terrible pitchers like Balester.

Tigers Acquire Sanchez and Infante from Marlins
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 12:05 AM) Angels have the best record in baseball since the end of April. They are playing fantastically and just took 2 out of 3 from the Rangers. From a rotation perspective, CJ Wilson and Weaver have been money. Haren should be back shortly. There offense is better (Trumbo, Trout, and Pujols is sick). They also are playing with no legit catcher (until Stewart comes backs) and have one of the best bullpen era's in baseball. Angels are also very very strong defensively. What's the deal with Haren this year? Velocity seems down. And yes, I do agree the Angels are the best team in the majors.

Tigers Acquire Sanchez and Infante from Marlins
Infante has 9 career homers vs White Sox...next closest team is 6. Always disliked seeing him face our lefties.

Tigers Acquire Sanchez and Infante from Marlins
QUOTE (thedoctor @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 11:59 PM) i agree that the tigers aren't that good. we aren't, either. They're pretty darn good. I feel like they have an underrated bullpen now and Boesch heating up over the last few weeks has made the bottom of that order a little more respectable. When you have a great 3/4 like theirs and a leadoff hitter having a breakout year like Jackson, you have the chance to have a good lineup.

ichiro to the Yankees
Didn't take much either. Think the Mariners feel bad about Pineda?

2012-2013 NBA thread
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 10:38 PM) Well with Rose being out, youd hope guys like Teague, Butler are given a chance to play, so that we know what the Bulls have. It wont make any sense to have veterans eating a ton of minutes just to suck anyways. That doesn't sounds like Thibs to me

Tigers Acquire Sanchez and Infante from Marlins
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 10:39 PM) That's the thing. I am thrilled with how this team has played this year. I just don't think they will be Detroit. You know what sucks? So few home games in July when the Sox are in contention. That would have been a great way to ensure good crowds.

Tigers Acquire Sanchez and Infante from Marlins
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 11:37 PM) Defense is the one clear win for us. The Tigers defense is awful, but just got better today with Infante. They can lose a guy like that on the offensive end because of all of the firepower that they have. I said this over the weekend, but the Tigers 3/4 hitters are playing awesome baseball right now. If Sox 3/4 continue to slump, then they probably have little chance to stay with the Tigers.

Tigers Acquire Sanchez and Infante from Marlins
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 11:32 PM) And to be frank, they won 95 games cause they got hot late in the year. Most of the year they were a .500 team and in many ways they overachieved. They are beatable. They aren't the Rangers or Angels. If Fister performs in the 2nd half like he did last year, then sure, they can get to 95 games with a healthy squad. However, I believe he has 2 DL trips already this year. They do finish off the year with 13 games against teams that will likely be pitching AAA scrubs though so 95 wins is possible with a hot August. Thing is, if they do win 95 games this year, you tip your cap and go for the wild card.

Which probably means Viciedo would have been traded for a pitcher

2012-2013 NBA thread
There will be significant growing pains with Teague. He was terrible to start the year for Kentucky, but by the end of the year, he had shown significant improvement. It will be interesting to see how patient Thibs is with him.

ichiro to the Yankees
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 10:08 PM) Interesting. Brett Gardner is probably not coming back this year, but don't they realize Ichiro hasn't been any good for two years now? As a #9 hitter though, that's pretty good for them. Helps their defense as well.
