  1. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 02:58 AM) Whoever it is I just want him gone. Im really tired of him getting shelled. Why are you surprised by this? Just like with Alexei, he's a notoriously terrible player to start the year. I don't think KW should trade Gavin unless he can get a significantly better package than what he got for Santos (blah) or Quentin (blah).
  2. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 02:55 AM) Hopefully the Red Sox didnt notice Gavin's outing. Blue Jays
  3. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 02:54 AM) Yep. Could be even uglier if PK finally regresses. Hopefully they take some of the money freed up this offseason and bring in more offensive talent into the organization. With KW only going after pitching this past offseason in trades, it seems like the lack of offensive talent in the organization has become really scary.
  4. Wow, that was blasted.
  5. Rios has looked good tonight at the plate.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 01:42 AM) How long until people start making Jeff Manto sucks threads? I say next Friday we'll start seeing stuff.
  7. Gavin on pace for another C+ outing.
  8. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 02:31 AM) Is it me or does lexi have awful atbats most of the time.. Career .224 hitter in April during his career. .264 is his next worse average for a month. It is what it is.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 02:28 AM) We've had about 3 timely hits this series in 15 opportunities. Sigh... Considering how their hitters look and how ours look, it's hard to complain about this team thankfully winning one game.
  10. De Aza looks pretty awful against LHP.
  11. Wow, very nice Escobar!
  12. Hell of a play by Rios there. He got a great jump on that!
  13. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 01:15 AM) Gavin was all over the place. You just have to tell him to let them steal at will and don't try too hard to hold the runner.
  14. Floyd leaving so many breaking pitches over the heart of the plate. I miss that dynamite curveball he used to have.
  15. Sooner we get Viciedo higher in the order against LHP, the better. I wouldn't be opposed to him hitting 3rd.
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 01:59 AM) Nice job from Gordon. Great swing by him
  17. Anyone notice they listed Escobar's OBP from last year as his minor league batting average?
  18. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 12:44 AM) Wow, that wasn't a good inning. Hopefully next inning with Dunn&Konerko coming up. Keep dealing Floyd! Alexei is opening up way too early at the plate. This offense is just offensive right now, with just a shocking lack of hard hit balls. I really can't believe Eduardo Escobar is playing 3rd base in the third game of the season.
  19. Quite the defensive first pitch swing by Konerko there. Hitting looks sluggish so far.
  20. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 04:27 AM) OK, then was Robin trying to protect Santiago from the media? Guess I am trying to figure out why Robin or Cooper (or anybody) didn't reveal it (if they knew). Just to make it more dramatic? Ventura not into drama from what I see. I thought it was pretty obvious it was Santiago based on the spring training games where Ventura actually managed the bullpen.
  21. So it's really intriguing watching a game with a new manager, as it's so hard to figure out what he's going to do. So far, Ventura definitely seems like he doesn't care about lefty/righty match-ups all that much. We've yet to see any bunt attempts as well. I disagreed with leaving Thornton in to face Napoli, but Ventura seems to be asking players to prove their ability to him and not relying on previous season stats. I said this in the game thread, but I loved how he pitched out with 2 outs and 2 strikes. It didn't work, but we'll get a handful of easy outs this year doing that.
  22. Hell yes...congrats Ventura/Santiago/Rios
  23. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 03:38 AM) I know people only see outs, but Rios hit the ball hard a few times already, even if it was on the first pitch a couple times. He looks comfortable at the plate. Calm, and not swinging and bad pitches. I actually thought Beckham looked really good tonight swinging the bat.
  24. Do you get Crain up in case Santiago gets in trouble?
