QUOTE (Paulstar @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:32 AM)
Unfortunately, over the past 3 or 4 years, I honestly don't think there has been a worse GM in all of baseball.
It would be hard to. Two other candidates, Wade and Hendry, will be out of a job shortly.
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:19 AM)
So you got a third string reporter to say something on twitter, which literally none of the big named reporters have said a word about in Chicago.
You mean the official Sox beat guy for their home television channel, CSN?
QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:29 AM)
I think there is a possibility that Adam Dunn would be claimed
The Newark Bears aren't allowed to pick up guys in the MLB waiver process.
QUOTE (Capn12 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:25 AM)
I'm pretty excited that we have 3 more YEARS of a 'power' hitter who has a snowballs chance in hell of getting a hit off a lefty.
There's not a chance in hell he's here 3 more years. At this point, I'd be stunned if he's on the Sox come the start of 2013.
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:25 AM)
Dunn and Rios hitting 4th and 5th for a team with a payroll over 120 million dollars is an all-time example of the great combination of poor general managing and poor managing the White Sox have.
Yet they keep their jobs...this is torture.
QUOTE (kapzk @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:24 AM)
Just retire
We need to fire KW now so he can become someone else's GM and claim all of our s***ty players off of waivers.
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:18 AM)
Gmab, that almost worked
You see how close Tex was playing him? If he would have picked it up, they would have got him easily.
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:12 AM)
Except for his entire minor league career.
Talking about his approach at the plate in the majors. You do always make it sound like he was some huge power prospect, even though a lot of people were skeptical he'd ever be able to hit for power in the majors IIRC.
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:09 AM)
Power reliant means you'll have your days when the well is dry, but at least it means you'll have your days when the well is full. We almost never seem to put up huge games anymore offensively.
It's sad how Ozzieball and Hawk has poisoned some of our fans into thinking a home run is a bad thing.
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:09 AM)
I thought Morel did the right thing going to opposite field. Was it just terrible or what?
He's just too weak of a hitter to get it over the outfielder's head when he hits it that way. There is nothing offensively about the guy that projects as a MLB hitter.
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 02:51 AM)
It's less painful to think about Tweets than to think about giving away a free Colby Rasmus simply because Kenny's made so many horrific signings and trades.
And don't forget giving up Quentin this offseason because we have something like 45 million tied up in Peavy/Dunn/Rios
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:07 AM)
I long for the days when the Sox were loaded with HR hitters.
Thank you! It's truly pathetic how we get no power at all from our catcher, third baseman, left fielder and center fielder.
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 02:50 AM)
It makes zero sense.
This is far and away Ozzie's worst year of strategy with lineup, bunting and handling of his starters.
