  1. QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 10:18 PM) yeah well betcha he doesn't go to florida if Ozzie wasn't there. s*** happens. Things change. He never made any promises or guarantees, just said what he felt in the moment. If the Cardinals had come knocking guarantee he'd have gone there in a heartbeat, but they didn't so he had to do what was the best for him and his family. And if he felt the white sox weren't gonna match, or even try to keep him, then it was his prerogative to leave. I can't fault him for any of that. It's pretty clearly all about getting the 4th year added to the deal. Every media member was saying last night that the first team to give him the 4th year gets him. In my opinion, this has nothing to do with Ozzie being there.
  2. Cheers to the best closer in baseball history!
  3. Buehrle was possibly the only Sox player the last two years who didn't say anything negative about Ozzie and/or KW's interactions. I hope Buehrle does well in Florida, and I'm not going to fault him for taking the biggest deal out there. My outrage at the Sox would have been much higher if he only signed for like 3/35 somewhere.
  4. I still think we should all breathe a sigh of relief he didn't go to the Cubs. That would have made things a million times worse.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) I could see the Rangers making a late move for Fielder I agree with this, he'd be a great fit there.
  6. Buehrle to Marlins likely means Pujols to Cards, Wilson to Angels and Fielder to Cubs
  7. Wow, way too much money for Buerhle. I was hoping he'd go to the Nationals, where he'd be a lot easier to root for.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 09:02 PM) This amount continues to be low enough that it makes sense for more teams, including the Cubs, to be in on it. I'm scared that the Cubs might jump in and sign Pujols to something like 6 years, 175 million.
  9. The thing I don't get is that the new Marlins stadium is supposed to be a massive pitcher's park. Why would two potential HOFers in Pujols/Fielder want to go play there and have their numbers die?
  10. If you're KW and giving up Quentin and Danks, you should be asking for Lavarnway. All I know is that if the roles were reversed and KW was going after two above average veterans, he'd be giving up a lot more than Reddick and Ranaudo.
  11. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 09:53 PM) Word is Ranaudo is overrated. He'd be a good piece, but I hope KW doesn't treat him like an elite prospect Never heard of KW being fascinated with Ranaudo. The key with Kenny is to always keep in mind guys he targeted. That's biggest reason I think he'll try to get Grandal.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 09:51 PM) Bedard at 4.5 isnt that bad for the Pirates. Nope, that's a very good signing. If he stays healthy and Pirates aren't in contention, he'll be a good trade chip.
  13. I would imagine Reddick would be involved in any deal as well. Personally, I don't think Boston is a good trade partner.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 09:18 PM) I like your argument and your style. The thought of Dunn playing the field sickens me as much as the thought of him whiffing a zillion more times next season. Think about how Dunn, Rios and Peavy have ruined our team. Cause of paying them out the ass the shellshocked chairman is in line with a "rebuild." What a joke. A rebuild will make our team so irrelevant in Chicago. We already were irrelevant with a 125 million dollar payroll and Ozzie as our manager.
  15. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:06 PM) I get a feeling he's going to sign with Washington.. Hate to see my 2nd all-time fav Sox player move to another team but the Sox needs to turn the page and get younger.. I'd love to see him on the Nationals in coming years. As long as it's not the Cubs, I'm at peace with him leaving.
  16. Buehrle to the Marlins is my prediction
  17. There's no doubt in my mind that KW should be targeting Grandal. We're going to need a catcher after next season, and in no way do I trust Flowers to become an everyday catcher. Reds have a need for pitching, and Sox have surplus of guys to get rid of.
  18. I'm skeptical about any announcement, as I haven't seen anyone else mention it.
  19. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 04:36 PM) I am predicting that they sign Buehrle.. I just can't see Pujols leaving STL I predict they say they've pulled their offer
  20. Rauch's personality in New York won't go over very well
  21. I have a feeling people are going to get really pissed off in this thread when they see what the A's get for Andrew Bailey.
  22. I still have no idea why KW decided to pick up Frasor's option if we're blowing things up.
  23. Only way acquiring Rowand makes sense to me is if Beckham is traded and Lillibridge gets a chance to play 2b
  24. No way Orioles give up Britton for anyone we're likely to give up.
  25. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 04:15 AM) Cubs could be the mystery team. Joel Sherman said the Cubs are very much into the Pujols sweetstakes I think they're in on him still but not at ten years. Meanwhile, there probably is a mystery team out there as well.
