  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 09:15 PM) Loyalty in this organization is it's deathnail right now! Dwyane Wade is an idiot
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) He was extended to be in a utility role. Screaming about bench signings is kind of ridiculous. Pierre? Obviously. Rios? He is losing that gamble. But to complain about the bench is a bit much. I'd love to see KW put together a couple teams with a more competent manager before I vilify him as well. He got a hell of a of money to be a utility player.
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 08:10 PM) I always thought that he was one of the more obvious juicers. I understand that he tested positive for a banned substance, but that was "supposedly" not a steroid. Indeed...him and Boone on same team hitting bombs in a huge park.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) Its Ozzie, he's a f***ing idiot. I get resting Konerko and switching in Dunn, but the rest of the lineup? f***. This "Sunday" lineup puts anything Jerry M. did to shame. 3 of our 4 tough outs on the bench in same game just seems like you're settling for a 1-2 series.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) Teahen now 4 for his last 34. Well, at least one of those 4 hits was exciting. Why does it feel like a line-up with Pierre leading off, Dunn 3rd, Rios 4th and Teahen 5th is basically conceding the game? Could Ozzie have made a worse line-up had he just drawn the names out of a hat as he suggested doing during our 4-18 streak? Teahen's the person on the roster that is the biggest "waste". If you're looking for someone to go on the DL to get Viciedo up here, it would be him.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 09:07 PM) How ANYBODY can defend KW at this point is beyond me. I'm just holding out hope changes will be made after the Cubs game on Sunday with regards to roster.
  7. Just saw this lineup has two players with an OPS over .635
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 09:03 PM) Dunn and Rios as 3-4 hitters is inexcusable. LOSING *Charlie Sheen voice* This I agree with, but it's more a testament about just how bad our offense is without Konerko and Quentin. I wonder where this lineup ranks all time in Sox history with regards to cumulative OPS?
  9. Pierre is 2-26 after having a 2-0 count in an at bat. That's ridiculous
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 08:59 PM) Just don't get the logic of resting Quentin AND Konerko. Quentin, I get. But the only legit offensive threat we've had the last week, along with AJ? Only thing I can think of is Konerko asked for day off, as plans were to play Dunn in RF.
  11. Pierre is 0-8 with bases loaded, 1-10 with man on 3rd and less than 2 outs
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 08:57 PM) Of course, losing (or winning) this game has VERY little to do with Juan Pierre, but why, why, why does he always seem to come up with RISP or in key situations? Cause he gets the most at bats on the team?
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 08:47 PM) i hate the NL. Ugh, you made it seem like inning was over
  14. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 08:46 PM) I guess we'll see then after this start what happens. I'm hoping for the best but I could see what you're worried about playing out too unfortunately. Just seems like it would have been a good time to push him back a day, keep Jackson on 5 days rest, and have Peavy go up against a Cubs lineup that he even said he matches up better again. Oh well, we just need him to stay healthy the rest of the way, and in the long run, it's doubtful this game will impact his health that much.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) Who would have been bumped up? I'd rather Peavy starting in Coors over Humber or Floyd as he's more apt to miss bats. Jackson could have gone on 5 days rest
  16. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 08:43 PM) I know you said this before the game started, so I'm not implying you're doing this in hindsight, but it's normal rest coming off what 60 pitches? I'm sorry, if Peavy can't handle that he shouldn't be pitching. I just don't believe this was a bad move. Unfortunately it's started off poorly, but even if continues this way I'm not going to blame it on starting "too soon". That's the thing, maybe he just can't handle this workload. That Indians gem he threw a few months ago seemed to impact his velocity for his next few starts.
  17. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 08:36 PM) Here we go. 7 runs this inning. Good call, we can definitely chip away. Safe to say this game isn't going to end up 3-0.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 08:35 PM) I don't know about you guys, but I could tell from the start that Peavy just did not have it. His pitches weren't moving much and his velocity was way down. Hopefully they pull him relatively early today and he's able to bounce back next week.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 07:34 PM) Fearless Prediction: Heads will not post in this thread. I was quite happy to pick up a win last night!!
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 07:31 PM) Yup, pitching on regular rest be damned!!! It's not just the 4 days rest, but it's the fact that he's ending up throwing a ton of game pitches in an 8 day period coming off of the DL. If this was Buehrle, that's one thing. But this is someone that seems to struggle keeping their stuff for a week or so after a high pitch count game.
  21. Really wish the organization would learn what we've all seen: you have to treat Peavy with a lot of caution. As soon as I saw that article last night saying he brought in his massage therapist to make sure he was ready today, I was praying for a rain out.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 07:29 PM) Peavy's velocity is down. 89-91 pretty consistently. Does he always throw like that in the beginning of the game and then get it back up closer to the mid-90's as the game goes on? Can't seem to put Tulowitzki away at all, not missing bats. Five foul balls now on 3-2 pitches, 13 pitches. Ugh. 3 run homer. Absolutely no excuse for him to be pitching today. Bad, bad decision. Hector Santiago likely to get a lot of innings today.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 07:20 PM) Crap. Not auspicious start. You know my feelings on this
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 06:45 PM) Lexi's struggles have been troubling. He can really really help our team, I almost want to say carry our team, when he gets hot. And Beckham ... man I don't know what to think. He's really a miserable hitter right now. I didn't see his double last night. He's another guy I almost expect to make out now every time he goes to the plate. When is this team going to get red hot at the plate where we start mashing over a 2 week span? I didn't see his double either...that's cause he had no hits
  25. Lower back soreness for Zambrano
