  1. Jeez, Andruw playing some terrible defense in this inning. No chance to catch that Stone cause he ran back on it.
  2. Jeez, just a dreadful start so far by Danks. Every pitch is hanging right over the heart of the plate. A's about to blow this wide open. As of 6:30PM today, today has really sucked.
  3. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 12:25 AM) Twins up 3-0 Thome double
  4. Twins putting a hurting on Felix already, about to be 3-0. Delmon Young is ridiculous.
  5. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 12:24 AM) Doesn't help when Danks has given up 4 hits in 1.1 Everything's up in the zone.
  6. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 12:23 AM) Bunch of cheap hits and we're trailing by 1. That was an awful decision by Andruw.
  7. Beckham continues to have absolutely no ability to field plays that he dives on. A's up and threatening for more.
  8. Twins scored on King Felix already. Their offense is insane right now.
  9. QUOTE (TomPickle @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 12:14 AM) Well so much for that. Alexei needs to take a pitch or two when Pierre gets on. Two straight nights he made an out on the first pitch after Juan reached.
  10. We've played Oakland 5 times now, and I swear Stone and Hawk have had the same conversation about Suzuki's contract extension every first AB he's had.
  11. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 12:07 AM) Will Jackson be in the dugout tonight? Yes, he got there around 4 PM. KW told him to stay at the hotel earlier today in case he got traded.
  12. No one would want Berkman up until the last few weeks, as he had looked terrible at the plate.
  13. The joke is pretty funny, especially given the timing of Konerko's comments to Beckham. And hell, it's great to hear that Beckham wanted to stay here so badly.
  14. Did Jackson suffer at all from Arizona's awful bullpen and inherited runners scoring?
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 10:23 PM) Unless we had a crystal ball with Pods, Vladdy and Aubrey Huff, we'd probably be in an even worse position had we gone with almost any other option out there for DH, because that money for Damon/Matsui (etc.) wouldn't have been available to add Edwin Jackson. is this sarcasm?
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) He's given up 8 ER in his last 10 starts. and no home runs
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 10:19 PM) Buying at the deadline is a perfectly fine strategy, especially when there weren't a ton of great fits at the deadline. You guys all talk about Thome, but he isn't exactly a world beater. He'd clearly be a lot better than Kotsay but he still hasn't been that amazing and no one could have even assumed he'd put up the numbers he has thus far this year. Since you brought up Thome, he would be 8th in OPS in the AL if he qualified. For a million dollars, that's pretty amazing.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 09:11 PM) I still think this team has a shot. Jackson has the ability to be a pretty good pitcher and I feel we have a strong defense and strong bullpen. If the bats are hot at the right time this team could win it all. But I like Danks/Floyd/Jackson more than some. And we all know I am Floyds biggest fan. I think Floyd is one of the best starters in all of baseball. This offense is good enough at home to compete with the big boys, but our offense on the road has been putrid it seems. With the teams we'd likely face in the postseason (NYY, Tampa, Texas), you better be able to score some runs.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 09:10 PM) The Sox are going to try and get Danks or someone else to sign a deal to keep control of pitchers. Extending Jackson might not be a bad thing. But than again, I tend to like Edwin. Boras would never let Jackson sign an extension if he pitches well for the Sox. He'll test free agency.
  20. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 10:03 PM) "Ozzie Hates Rookies," someone should claim that screen name ASAP. No comment
  21. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) Kenny saying on WSW that resigning Dunn in the off-season would be out of the question, payroll issues currently. Wow, that's hard to take seriously after the 8 million dollar addition to next year's payroll that took place yesterday.
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) But all of a sudden next year, we'll have a system with Mitchell/Thompson/Sale/Viciedo. Those are 4 really high upside guys as your potential top 4 prospects. Add in other guys like Flowers and Danks, who have strong tools and aren't bad guys to have in your top 6 or 7 prospects. I actually think our system might be a little better than some people think, its just two huge injuries really shrunk the depth for this season. Is Danks really a top 10 prospect anymore? Unless he has a strong finish, he's really hurt his stock this season. I also believe Flowers is gone after this season, and will be used as a trade chip.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) I do not think it would be the same bulls*** if KW would meet with Oz and Jerry and the three of them decide to dump Kotsay and give ALL the DH time to Viciedo/Teahen (mild yuk) and play Viciedo at third the other days. I think the guy can hit. greg, problem is that even though we'd all like that, the truth is the thought process with Ozzie is almost the total opposite
  24. I don't think it's as much about Viciedo as it is Ozzie's LOVE for Kotsay.
