  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2010 -> 02:40 PM) If we continue to suck badly, I bet we trade a big name. It is just a feeling. Mark Buehrle

IIRC, didn't the producers stress the show had nothing to do with purgatory since basically episode 1?
  3. Give me Dirk over Bosh any day if you're adding LeBron, as Dirk's a much better shooter.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 24, 2010 -> 03:52 AM) The ending makes me feel like I wasted six years on this show. Couldn't agree more with you. I wanted to like the finale to make the 6 year investment seem like a good one, but holy crap, this season was awful. I really thought Hurley's acting was beyond awful tonight. On the other hand, Elizabeth Mitchell is such a MILF.
  5. In no way am I saying Lima's character should be questioned, but I really hope we don't start seeing this a lot more often with players we've followed closely due to lifestyle and training programs. I'd hate for the world of sports to become like professional wrestling.
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 24, 2010 -> 02:43 AM) The officiating in the first half of tonights game has been laughable. League doesn't want two sweeps and a long period of no games apparently. True, but Lamar Odom and Channing Frye are locked in a battle tonight of who can play worse. Kobe's on fire, yet Odom has 7 shots in the first half.

Awesome start for Hudson, great to see after Garcia's awfulness today.

Prison Break had an amazing series finale.
  9. Great to hear
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ May 23, 2010 -> 09:19 PM) Did Peavy bat? The widget said that he did. No
  11. One out away from the most predictable shutout since Johan Santana was in the AL.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 23, 2010 -> 09:09 PM) And yet, it doesn't exactly seem like it's being all the helpful for them. They're doing a much better job in close games as opposed to the beginning of the year when they were using Caridad as their set-up man. I do look forward to watching Howry pitch more for them.
  13. Wow, bulls*** umpiring against Vlad in the 9th. Marmol always seems to get a HUGE strike zone.
  14. Marshall and Marmol is quite the 1-2 punch in the bullpen right now. A guy with an unhittable curve followed by the most dominate slider in baseball.
  15. Bad game for Quentin today, as he had been raising his batting average. Might as well let him bat 2nd now, as he's a slap hitter.
  16. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 23, 2010 -> 09:28 PM) Here's a game to pass the time. Guess that current/former White Sox player by scouting report from draft day. Starting with a current Sox:" Strong, athletic physique. Well-defined legs and arms. Body like Alex Rodriguez. Wide, balanced, open stance. Good bat speed, plus power potential. Major League arm with carry. Smart player, good instincts with sure hands. Anticipates well at shortstop." That's easy, Rios
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 23, 2010 -> 09:26 PM) Technically didn't they win 2 games this series? Yes, and instead of building on it and gaining ground on the Twins, they go ahead and lay an absolute egg today.
  18. One step forward, two steps back with this team. Randy Williams really sucking it up...performance wise and for the team.
  19. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 23, 2010 -> 07:59 PM) And Kotsay is the polar opposite, as our #5 hitter. What a joke. Ozzie had him in the lineup against a RHP...who dominates lefties so far this year.
  20. Maybe we'll see Nix pitch today? With Santos/Thornton/Jenks/Putz likely not available, there's no harm in doing that if this game reaches massive blowout proportions.
  21. This Garcia start reminded me of Colon's start at the Cell last year where he just got destroyed, and he was never the same after it. I haven't seen a Sox starter get hit harder in a game in a long time.
  22. It's so obvious that Quentin needs to stand closer to the plate. He can't turn on anything with authority, and anything on the outside corner results in a lazy pop up to right field. Hard to get mad about Garcia's performance today, I'm more shocked it doesn't happen more often with his lack of anything on his pitches.
  23. What channel is the NBA game on? It's blocked out on ESPN right now.
  24. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 22, 2010 -> 10:09 PM) I can't remember a year where so many no-names, scrubs or guy that haven't done anything of note in years have started off so well: Ty Wiggington Jose Bautista Jose Guillen Vernon Wells Kelly Johnson Rod Barajas Alex Gonzalez Jorge Cantu John Buck Casey McGehee None of them will make it as starters, but there's a good chance a few of these guys could be all-stars (and not just because one player from each team is required to go) if they keep this up. I just want to say you provide so much to this board with your mentions of baseball not involving the Sox. Thank you!
