  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 09:25 PM) Just a bad performance today by everything; pitching, offense, and defense. But with Captain Choke on the mound, it was hard to expect a victory. Gotta get game 2 now, pressure is all on us. Yep, Maddon made a brilliant managerial decision by starting Shields today and Kazmir tomorrow. He knew the situation Ozzie was in with the rotation, and he was able to match up Kazmir against a better pitcher in game 2 than who Shields would have to face.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 09:23 PM) Who is making excuses? All I keep saying is that people who expected Javy to play like a 1 or 2 starter because he gets paid a lot dont know s*** about baseball. Pay checks have no correlation to players ability. Thome gets paid more than Longoria, so he must be better? Vazquez was brought in to be a huge contributor 3 years ago. Just because he's sucked in his 3 years here, it doesn't mean that the Sox only expect him to be #4 caliber. You know what, even if he is #4 caliber, his record and ERA are below average. His Sox career has been a disappointment, and it will be over as soon as this season concludes. The Sox made it to the playoffs despite Javy.
  3. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 08:20 PM) Badger has a point. Running out our worst starter in Game 1 is the price we have to pay for having dicked around the last few weeks. It still sucks though, as does Javy. You mean those same few weeks when Javy was pathetic in 3 games? Good lord, no one gets more excuses made for them than Javy.
  4. QUOTE (Felix @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 08:20 PM) STOP THE BUNTS There is no reason to give them outs. Yep, 3 outs given up by the Sox on bunts or steals.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 08:10 PM) I dont even understand how some of you consider yourselves Sox fans. Javy is the Sox 4th starter, due to having to play the last few weeks we could not set the rotation. Javy is not supposed to shut down the other team, he is supposed to keep the Sox in the game so that we have a chance to win. He's paid a lot of money to get hitters out. He sucks...this will be his 17th lost on a team that almost won 90 games. No one in the organization respects him either. I can't wait until he's traded so we can hear how despised he was.
  6. Hopefully we never see Vazquez pitch for the White Sox again. Honestly, the most disappointing White Sox player this decade.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 09:05 PM) Can Uribe please stop playing so far in, thats 2 hits given up because of it. He has no range at 3rd base.
  8. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 09:04 PM) Very good. Best in baseball, especially with Percival out.
  9. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) Cabrera is f***ing us over at the plate all day He's had like 2 good hit-and-run attempts all season. He's just a pathetic fundamental hitter.
  10. I predict Javy for Troy Glaus trade this offseason, with Joe Crede signing with the Cardinals.
  11. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 07:30 PM) Why are people asking for Clayton? Bring in Floyd. What the hell is wrong with you people? Because pitching Floyd on 2 days rest is just dumb.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 07:28 PM) No, Vazquez needs to be involved in a train wreck. Be careful, Javy's not worth getting yourself banned.
  13. We're seeing Javy's last start ever in a White Sox jersey at least.
  14. I hate you Javy. You are such a gutless piece of s***.
  15. Could Griffey have done anything to prevent the triple?
  16. Ozzie has to get someone up in the pen. Javy had another chance to dispell the myth that he has no balls, and once again, is failing.
  17. That was unexpected seeing Wise's homer pop up on yahoo.
  18. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 07:09 PM) I am not trying to beat a dead horse or get up on my high horse but I sit in left field in the third row right behind DeWayne Wise. He can not judge a fly ball he freezes on every single ball put in play. Nice job Javy. Yes, he caught a fly ball hit by Casilla on Tuesday that he didn't even move on for a few seconds after it was hit.
  19. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 07:06 PM) This is the playoffs, and Ozzie has Wise in left-field. That's just hilarious, only the White Sox would ever even consider something as foolish as that in the post-season I'm more irritated he's batting 2nd than anything else. Oh well, this offense needs to get it going.
  20. QUOTE (Reddy @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 08:04 PM) fathom defend him now. lol goddamnit wise Defend Wise? Hell no, Swisher should be out there. I've been saying it for a while.
  21. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 08:00 PM) Haha. Settle down guys. You know what our deficiencies are. We did a great job to make the postseason. Try to enjoy this s*** instead of getting all pissed off in the second inning. It's amazing we even made the f***ing playoffs with our injuries. Enjoy the show. Amen!
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 07:58 PM) Please save all the "we miss CQ" yap. This isn't basketball where one guy can be the difference between winning it all and losing in the first round. Do we miss him? Of course. But please don't use that as some excuse every time the offense look like s***. Agreed, and let's stop making Wise the fall guy. The entire offense needs to pick it up...they've been really mediocre against starting pitching for a long time now.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 07:58 PM) Haven't you read the papers? Oz is mad at Swish for brooding about playing time. Sun Times mentioned it again today. For the 100th time, Ozzie is playing Wise in LF because he doesn't feel like Swisher has the speed to help Griffey when he's out in CF. Ozzie said before the series that you will always see Wise in LF if Griffey is playing.
