Jermaine Dye HBP-Leaves Game
Please post any updates here. It worked well for Quentin a few weeks ago, so hopefully he's ok.

Jerry Owens Opts for Free Agency
He's going to regret this move big time after the Dye incident.

Well, that's just terrible news about Dye. I'd actually be interested in moving Quentin to RF, Fields to LF, and Betemit to 3B. We can't go with Pods in RF and Phillips or Kroeger in LF.

So Dye got hit by a pitch? How bad did it look? If he goes to the DL, KW has to make an acquisition. There's no one in the organization that can play RF. We've had some horrible injury luck so far this year.

Just a terrible sports day so far: Sox lose, Bulls about to lose, Cubs win, Tigers win, Cardinals lose, and Twins about to win.

What a terrible, terrible shot by Gordon in that situation. This game's over.

I love you Kalapse It's more proof that Fields in the 2nd spot is not working!!

QUOTE (Brian @ May 3, 2009 -> 02:51 AM) Why would Ben even jump into him? He's not gonna block his shot. I like Gordon, but his defense has been just terrible today.

Nice D...keep fouling Ray Allen, he might miss a FT once every 10 attempts.

QUOTE (Cubano @ May 3, 2009 -> 01:43 AM) I do not understand why the Sox opted to pitch to Blalock intead of M. Byrd. in the 4th. He should had walked to first intentionally. Wouldn't have mattered. Contreras had NOTHING, and it was just a matter of time before Texas started to crush him. Contreras needs to be sent to the glue factory, and receive a 2005 WS DVD as a parting gift.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 3, 2009 -> 01:37 AM) It's just too damn humid out there. Just wait until we get into a nice hot, dry climate this lineup will explode. Oh but not too hot or windy or cloudy, nobody likes clouds. Exactly, so many damn excuses being made. They're just not generating enough offense in the first few innings, and by rule, it makes it harder to score as you get into the bullpen. The Sox have been much better against the opposition's bullpen this year compared to the past few years.

Salmons having just a terrible all-around game.

So 3 hits in the first 5 innings tonight. Our offense has been absolutely pathetic in the early innings of games.

QUOTE (scenario @ May 3, 2009 -> 01:31 AM) Every team that wins the World Series has a magical season. True....funny that Tampa had a magical season and still didn't win it all. Their pitching staff this year looks like ours from 2006.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 3, 2009 -> 01:23 AM) Since June 1st 2006 through yesterday (I'm not even going to count today) Jose has made 76 starts and this is what he has to show for it: 25-35, 5.29 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, 5.7 K/9, 10.42 H/9 Just more proof that 2005 was a magical season for the White Sox.

It's pathetic how we keep double teaming Marbury on the drive while leaving House/Scalabrine wide open.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 3, 2009 -> 02:13 AM) what's the point of a trip to the DL? I would think it has to be charlotte to work out whatever is happening. I still applaud the guy for getting back so soon. Maybe it's just too soon. (or maybe he's too old). It's not like he's been tearing it up since the end of the 2006 ASB anyways. Still ranks as worst contract/extension in KW's history.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 3, 2009 -> 02:13 AM) If it's a do-over, we could possibly see Jose DL'd or sent down and try to have a new pitcher up by tomorrow, without losing a game in the process. Poreda could get the start tomorrow.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 3, 2009 -> 01:09 AM) what happens if it ends at 4? do over? I don't remember the rules. Yes, it would be postponed. They'll do their best to get this top of the inning going right now.

Damn, 4th inning is over. Maybe the worst pitched inning of the season.

9-1...pull Richard and save 5 minutes! Our 5th starter/long relief situation is pathetic this year. Richard's fastball is way down from last year.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 3, 2009 -> 01:05 AM) Clayton is taking his sweet ass time. I was very happy for CQ to not throw him out at 2nd base. They are absolutely destroying every pitch over the plate.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 3, 2009 -> 01:03 AM) Sure he will. He's not going to send Contreras out there every fifth day to get destroyed, he'll make a move and I have a feeling this is just about it for Jose if I had to put money on it I'd say he hits the DL before his next scheduled start. I agree...you never, ever hear Hawk get this upset at a "core" member of the Sox.
