7/31 - White Sox @ Minnesota Twins (7:10pm CSN)
QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:18 AM) I wonder if his elbow is hurt. His slider has zero bite. It looks like he's changed his delivery, and you're right, maybe he's trying to hide a delivery.

QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:17 AM) we're not winning any playoff series with these guys, sorry but it's not gonna happen Unless Linebrink returns in the next 2 weeks and is healthy, it's hard to see this team making the playoffs.

Boone needs to go to the minors.

Where's Griffey Jr. going to bat in the lineup?

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:14 AM) Correct me if I'm wrong, but this was predictable after the Gardenhire meltdown. He's the best manager in baseball, and it's not even close.

Boone's slider is horrible now. I can't remember the last time he fooled someone on it.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:12 AM) Can you seriously blame this inning on Boone? No no, not at all. I mean more of the guy to get us from the 7th to Jenks. It's too bad Linebrink is hurt, as I really would have liked to see us trade Dotel for a huge package.

Screw these relievers...we need to see more Carrasco!

QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 04:08 AM) Would you have traded OC for Street? Yes, in a heartbeat. Reason being is I don't think we'll offer arbitration to OC. Also, if Street performs well the rest of the way, you can possibly deal him in the offseason for a good package.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 04:07 AM) Can we possibly trade away Hawk.. man he makes me sick with his constant stroking of the Twins.... First time in my life I considered muting a Sox game. That's usually only reserved for Kasper/Brenly.

OC sure seems to have more fun talking to the opposition than he does talking with his Sox mates.

What a terrible week of baseball this has been. Sox better win tomorrow and Saturday, as we're not winning Richard vs Greinke.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 04:04 AM) I apologize to whoever I disagreed with yesterday about the difference between Paulie and Swisher's ability to pick balls yesterday. I said Swish was just as good. Swisher's head is as far up his ass as Paulie's right now. Me too, but to our defense, Swisher in his time with the Sox had been excellent at picking those type of throws.

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 04:03 AM) It was a good play by Uribe. Swisher failed to pick it. It was a routine play that he threw into the dirt. Gomez wasn't even hustling to 1st base.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 04:01 AM) Only makes it worse that the Cubs got Harden for a 3-4 starter and two fourth outfielders. Yep, they've already realized that Patterson and Murton aren't very good.

Wow, this defense is just pathetic. Hopefully for the 2nd time tonight, Ozzie pulls them off the field.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 02:57 AM) Swisher has been the biggest dissapointment of any player on the Sox. Konerko has been a bit worse, but he struggled through injuries for most of the season and those injuries pretty much burried his morale. Just never let KW trade with Beane again.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 02:57 AM) He will. He should. Why would you have Konerko hit for Wise against a RHP?
-
7/31 - White Sox @ Minnesota Twins (7:10pm CSN)
Oh shut the f*** up Hawk. That should have been a routine play for Uribe. Our 3rd base defense has been absolutely brutal this season.

That's a great start by our 3/4 heroes.

QUOTE (GOD @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 02:49 AM) Anyone else realize that Minnesota has a 14 game road trip in September? Is it true they have one series vs Tigers left this year?

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 02:49 AM) How would you feel knowing you had Dye-Thome-Griffey coming up here? At least the one run would seem to be a certainty. Sure, if it was 2001

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 02:49 AM) Now Gavin Floyd on the other hand. I was one of the few that was raving about him back when he was down in the minors. Not gloating though because he's still got a lot to prove, but thus far you really got to tip your cap and hand it to Gavin for doing a nice job all season long. Great way to start things of CQ. Time for the Sox to quit b****ing and being afraid and battle back. The Twins did it today, why can't the Sox come on back. LETS GO WHITE SOX!!!! Hell, I see Paulie coming up with a big pinch hit tonight. Quick someone, get me into the insane asylum. If only they still had Eddie Guardado

In Danks first 18 starts, he had allowed 4 runs or more only twice. Now, he has a 4 game streak going of allowing at least 4 runs. His next start is against the Tigers.

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:43 AM) It's bulls*** that we walk into the metrodome defeated. You can tell as the Twins started to do well today that everyone was looking around as if they were waiting for them to come back to get us. I remember one of our young pitchers being interviewed, I can't remember which, but he was talking about how players had told him of all the things that happen to us at the metrodome. This team needs to act like a first place team. Hawk said it perfectly that we were a team that was behind even when we were in the lead. I'm just grateful that Mauer's rocket in the 4th inning was positioned perfectly by OC last night, or else who knows how big of an inning that might have been.
