  1. QUOTE (Brian @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:38 AM) I wish. Sometimes we say our batters are swinging for the fences just to be critical, but tonight with the slow stiff, they are really trying to swing for the fence, except for AJ's single. How about Dye pulling tht 82 mph pitch off the plate right to the 3rd baseman? I'd also like to see Ozzie give our 3/4/5 the green light on the 3-0 pitch.
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:37 AM) There wasn't much behind Crede's swing. It was a contact swing the whole way. Stop being so negative!
  3. It figures...I've seen Livan pitch a lot over the years, and I've never seen him come close to having this type of success with his slow curve. Can Walker be fired during the game?
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:28 AM) There have been 2 good swings by our hitters tonight. 2. Thome's fly out and AJ's single. Dye had a decent swing, as did Crede. The problem so far is we're letting Livan dictate what pitch we swing at.
  5. Sox offense needs to get it going sooner than later before it gets too late and we face Neshek and Nathan.
  6. Oh please Hawk, stop with the Cy Hernandez stuff. And OC makes another weak out on the first pitch. Put him in the #9 spot!
  7. The Twins outfielders make it seem like there's very little room for a baseball to fall in. The offense seems lifeless so far tonight.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:22 AM) After seeing what "Below average" means in CF more times than I ever want to think about again, I can more than live with a guy who bobbles the ball out there a few times. Just get to an average number of them and I'll live with it, and Swish does that. Like you said, above average/average/below average
  9. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:21 AM) Beurhle getting that inside pitch. Seems like he's popping the mitt a bit more than usual tonight. Gun's had him at 89 mph tonight. Also, there has to be a penalty on you for spelling his name wrong!
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2008 -> 02:19 AM) Overall, I think it's probably fair to say that a Quentin, Swisher, Dye OF, defensively, is Above average (due to his arm), Average, below average, left to right. Wait, I thought that previous post said Swisher bobbles the ball. Quentin's been perfect out there besides for two fluke plays.
  11. QUOTE (WillieHarris2 @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:16 AM) shiwher is not a centerfielder, he has no arm and sure he may bust his butt. remind me of a time this year when our outfielders have made a decent play on a ball hit in a gap. oh wait the only one i can think of who did that was alexi rameriez ad quentin bobbles just about everything that comes his way his transition from glove to hands isnt very fluid, and his arm is probably average maybe a bit above dye may have an arm but what good is your arm if it takes you all day to get to the ball I don't think Swisher is bad defensively (he's been a pleasant surprise), but I agree with your specific observations.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ May 8, 2008 -> 02:14 AM) New stance for Swish. Lower hands. Same s***ty results.
  13. Sucks it's cold out, as this has the feeling of a warning track power night for the Sox.
  14. When you strike out on a 60 mph curve, you know you're not hitting very well. Why do we continue to play PK with this hand injury?
  15. Good job by Buehrle pitching over the leadoff double.
  16. Quick observation....Buehrle is throwing way too hard.
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:05 AM) Where the f*** was Dye? Thanks for saying that, as if you look at the replay, he wasn't that far from the ball initially. He took forever to get to it though, and took his time on the release.
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:03 AM) Livan, looking as care free as ever out on the mound, gets em 1-2-3. Thome just missed an opposite field HR. Umpire has a very big strike zone, which probably hurts against Livan. The Sox should get plenty of hits against him, they just need to string them together.
  19. Nice swing by Thome...but Hawk gets excited on a ball that needed another 5 feet to get out.
  20. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ May 8, 2008 -> 02:55 AM) Total agreement. I love that stuff. Especially those "Top 50" things Best Damn plays. The Top 50 stuff is the greatest idea in sports television history.
  21. Well, that's a terrible start. Gomez with the fastest home run trot in history.
  22. Ned Yost is going to find himself out of a job soon. The Brewers have no energy this season. Yost still hasn't realized that David Bush is a 3-4 inning pitcher.
  23. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 7, 2008 -> 11:46 PM) What makes you think that? The guy has been mediocre his entire career 4.31 ERA in the AL in 2006, 3.83 ERA last season. He had a dead arm to start the season, but his velocity is creeping back up. I don't think he's anything special, but he's definitely worthy of being in a starting rotation.
