  1. Twins with 4 run lead now...it would be really nice if we were still in the lead after the weekend.
  2. Honestly, I'm not worried about the Twins long term. I don't believe they have the starting pitching to last the rest of the season. As a scout told my brother, if the Twins win, it's more because the Sox and Tigers struggled during the 2nd half of the season than the Twins going out and running away with the division.
  3. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 04:32 AM) Lately there has been. The Nationals are a AAA team, and San Diego has been horrid all season long. The Rockies have been playing better of late, and I still think the Dodgers are good enough to win the NL West. How about just the bad luck that the Cubs are the best team in baseball, and we have to play them 6 times. Hopefully the Brewers play well at Minnesota this weekend. Sheets will be pitching one of the games.
  4. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 04:27 AM) Granted we've played like crap, but I can't stand these interleague matchups. Minnesota has had the luxury of playing the Nationals and Padres. What a complete joke. Why are they even playing Washington? Why did we play Colorado. These matchups are just stupid. How about the Cubs not getting the Yanks or Red Sox? I heard someone mention they made some match-ups during interleague play to try and boost attendance. By that, they had the Red Sox/Yanks go play at locations that normally don't have big attendance. I haven't really looked into it, but that's an interesting concept.
  5. We're facing a ton of lefties over the next week....hopefully Toby's ready to carry this team.
  6. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 04:17 AM) Can we score 5 runs. With this lineup, and their bullpen....no. This ballgame's over, so I will change the channel to go watch the Padres and Cards game. Have a good night everyone.
  7. Nice effort this inning Gavin...please find your fastball before I see you live on Monday.
  8. Gavin Floyd needs to hold runners on better. He doesn't deserve the Greg Maddux treatment yet.
  9. This game has a similar feel to the Cubs game from Sunday night.
  10. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 04:10 AM) These guys are pathetic.... We're missing about 90 homers a season from our "usual" lineup. Thankfully we only have one more game without a DH. BTW, does anyone know the Sox average against LHP this season?
  11. Just an atrocious at bat for Swisher.
  12. A hit here for Swisher would avoid him falling to .200 against LHP.
  13. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 03:03 AM) Good eye by Super-Q to draw the walk. Far and away, CQ has the best eye of any Sox hitter when they have a full count.
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 03:58 AM) Over. By a few. Even without the Wiser playing?
  15. Wow, Twins up 5-3 on Maddux now. I was watching their game the other day, and they've adjusted Brendan Harris' swing. He's been very productive lately.
  16. Big inning here for the Sox. With the weak bottom of the order, we really need some production here. If not, the game's going to be late early.
  17. Over/under on runs tonight and tomorrow is 3
  18. QUOTE (Spiff @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 03:51 AM) If I was pitching to the opposing pitcher I would try to accidentally hit him in the arm. Especially with a pitcher who hits the opposite side (such as Zambrano).
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 03:50 AM) So if Joe Crede has to fly back to Chicago on Thursday is he going to miss the series with the Cubs too? They said he would be back in the lineup tomorrow.
  20. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 03:48 AM) Anytime our offense wants to show up for the game would be nice. I realize that the pitcher throws with the devils hand and all, and uses the bugs bunny slow pitch but lets go. This isn't exactly a good lineup we have out there.
  21. Twins are playing fantastic baseball...Casilla's been a huge catalyst for them.
  22. That could have been much, much worse. Get us started Pablo.
  23. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 02:30 AM) The fancy Jack McDowell bluff that never works. Not only that, but he balked. His body was definitely going towards the plate.
  24. That was a nice job by AJP of only calling for curves to Kemp. With the open base, that was great pitch selection.
  25. Very nice play by Swisher!
