  1. At least Tito will be happy. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) Schuerholz shook him. Even Dave Littlefield one upped him by dumping most of Kendall's contract on him. I love the stat about who the Pirates highest paid player is this year.
  2. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:00 PM) Last years Flubs. The Mariners have been high in payroll the past couple of years. The Mets a few years ago Christ, that was off the top of my head. So does Greg Walker think there are no ways to improve Uribe's swing? What a joke. I was thinking more of the Orioles a few years ago. And yes, Walker should be fired and Uribe needs a total makeover at the plate. Either that, or get him back on the juice.
  3. You know, it's really a good thing that KW didn't upgrade in LF or at SS this year. But thankfully, we're loaded with AAA pitchers for a while! QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:58 PM) I'd say he has been a tad above average this year, especially considering how bad he was the first two weeks. Considering how bad he started, he must be doing something right to have his ERA in the low 2's.
  4. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:56 PM) since pujols' blast in 05, he hasnt been the same. so we might have a chance to...ah never mind, we are the 2007 worst AL team with the worst BA in the league something interesting, i just saw cy youngs stats on baseball-reference.com, and he pitched 7354.7 innings in his career. holy cow Lidge has been sensational for quite a while now.
  5. Great game for Garland. This team has no chance to hit Lidge in the 8th, so it would be in our best interest to hit that solo homer this inning.
  6. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:46 PM) I post this rhetorical question in game thread when it gets this way. When is the offense going to be embarassing to KW? The bullpen was embarassing for a couple of weeks, but apparently has stopped. Now the offense has not done s*** all year. Paging KW, do you have a pulse? Do anything!!! KW failed miserably so far this year. This is one of the worst 100 million dollar payroll teams I've seen. Like I said earlier, terrible managing/base running/hitting/defense/fundamentals/relief pitching.
  7. Nice pull swings by Konerko and AJ that inning.
  8. It's great that we're losing 1-0 in a game we should have 2 runs if the players just hustled all the way to 3rd when they should have. At least these players are playing with energy.
  9. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:41 PM) Do think he will get it this year? The way things are going, I am not so sure. He'll probably get it if he can stay healthy.
  10. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:38 PM) I root for five or six players right now: Vazquez, Danks, Jenks, Fields, Konerko and Masset when he starts. I'll still watch Thome bat, as the chase for 500 carries on. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:39 PM) My cousin in St. Louis says the Cards maybe down on Reyes. Wonder if Buehrle would bring him in a deal. He's terrible! He's the most overrated player on soxtalk.
  11. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:38 PM) There is nobody to trade this year that makes us better next year. We're not going to be good next year, so it doesn't matter. If we're trading for prospects, I really wish that KW wasn't in charge.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) On the bright side, Fields got a hit. It's almost to the point where seeing Fields play well is more important than how this team does. Fields will be with this team longer than just about anyone else in this organization.
  13. The pitch AJ was arguing about was right down the plate. It was just a stupid argument by AJ.
  14. Bad pitching, bad base running, bad defense, bad hitting.....this team is just bad in every aspect. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) Good. The 1-0 defeat is still intact. Just leave
  15. Second time in three games where bad base running prevents the sac fly.
  16. Good job Fields! Why does it seem like every other team gets from 1st to 3rd on a hit-and-run single to LF?
  17. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:26 PM) But...but... he's a gold glover. Just like Crede is.
  18. Uribe is absolutely worthless at the plate. The ball just dies when he hits it.
  19. I'm getting real tried of people saying "it's not Walker's fault". Well, wouldn't that be true in 99 pct of the cases where a coach ends up getting fired? The fact that no changes have been made within our organization really worries me.
  20. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:16 PM) What happened I went to let the dog out? Easy double play chopper up the middle. Iguchi was real close to Uribe, and tossed it to him. Uribe dropped it, had to go get it and tag 2nd.
  21. Another magical turn by our pathetic double play tandem. I don't want to see either of those guys back next year.
  22. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:10 PM) no im not, its just this team continues to break my heart, game in, game out. even though paulie had a nice rip there, the first pitch was good for a 400 foot bomb. since he hit the grand slam in game 2 of the WS, he hasnt learned his lesson that the first pitch is the best pitch u will probably see in the whole at bat thanks....I needed a laugh at that stupid post.
  23. We're getting shut down by someone with an 85 mph fastball. If this follows the typical Sox game, we'll go down by about 3 or 4 soon as the opposition will get 3 hits in about a span of a minute.
