  1. The Indians continue to bring in crappy young reliever after crappy young reliever, and the Twins are about to blow this game wide open. It's amazing the concentration the Twins have had at the plate tonight.
  2. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 01:07 AM) C'mon Tribe, we could use some help. I can't remember the last time a team stepped up and helped us by sweeping the Twins during the last month of the season over the past 5 years or so. Boof's turned into a good starter for the Twins.
  3. Watching how bad the Indians look, it's really a shame we split that series with them.
  4. Is Jason Michaels only good against the Sox?
  5. Twins take the lead. They've been amazingly patient so far tonight.
  6. This umpire has a very tiny zone, and the Twins are being very patient.
  7. MacDougal has tightness in his right shoulder, but thinks he'll be available to go on Friday. Personally, Ozzie has got to avoid pitching him more than one inning in an outing. Also, Jenks is getting tired of the velocity questions. The scary thing is how much his response sounds like Billy Koch a few years ago. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines
  8. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 12:09 AM) I find it hard to believe the Sox have been so patient with Crede only to trade him away when all their patience pays off. I'd would be absolutely stunned if he is traded unless the concern about his back is what fuels it. They still have time to deal with Boras, or maybe Crede dumps him to try to get a deal done. I think its a better bet you'll be able to tour a peaceful Middle East, than see Boras hammering out a long-term contract for a major player with JR. Crede's not going anywhere. The second Ozzie put Fields in LF today, that sealed Crede's fate, IMO. BTW, how much most Pods suck for Rongey to say that he's been bad this year? Rongey was ripping on Pods today, and said that we'll have a new LF next year.
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 10:17 PM) They are gonna be hatin life if he has to have surgery and is gone for next year too. Wouldn't it be funny if Boof ends up being the more valuable player in that acquisition than Liriano. Of course, that Nathan guy is pretty good.
  10. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 10:09 PM) I know, I know. I'm just being silly. Ah...no problem. Let's wrap this thing up today, and then I know everyone on this site will relax tomorrow and enjoy the off day.
  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) I actually said to my friends who I'm watching the game with: "Adam Kennedy will break this up." That guy is a f***in pest. Anyways, fantastic Freddy, f'n awesome. He used to be a pest...but didn't he just suck against us in the ALCS last year?
  12. I think Liriano leaving that game with an injury might have given this team a huge spark.
  13. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 10:02 PM) That base hit gives the green light for fathom and southsideirish71 to post in this thread now. Um...I was in this thread earlier today. I'm at work, and have extremely limited internet access. If there's anyone that should never be accused of only posting when the Sox are either winning/losing, it should be me.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) Am I the only one who's extremely torn when it comes to Garcia's possible perfect game? I mean he is a White Sox player and all but this is more of a personal accomplishment and I really dislike Freddy Garcia, he is without a doubt my least favorite player on this team (outside of Podsednik) and I'd rather he not be one of the worst pitchers ever to pitch a perfect game. Just win the freaking game.
  15. There just seems to be no communication by the Sox players on the bases this year, and that involves our 1b and 3b coaches. Just think how many other times this year we've had a guy caught in a rundown due to Cora giving the stop sign too late.
  16. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) Remember when Uribe was a gap hitter? You mean in 2004, where he had enough power to hit it out to right center? I know Cintron's defense isn't great, but he needs to be playing at least once every series at SS. Uribe is worthless against a lefty with a good change-up.
  17. Uribe still batting? BTW, good job Thome.
  18. Can't watch the game today...I'd appreciate as many updates and observations as possible. I will say that this 7-8-9 in our lineup is terrible.
  19. Feel free to get a hit against a LHP starter Mr. Thome.

I'd like to see Fields get a chance to DH tomorrow. Thome's been useless against lefties recently anyways.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 05:46 AM) Does it seem to anyone like Jermaine Dye is plummeting right out of the MVP race right along with the White Sox in the pennant race? And not just because the team is losing, but also because Dye all of a sudden isn't getting the job done? Dye looks very tired at the plate. He's not getting his arms extended, and has been hitting a lot of choppers to the left side. He's literally the last guy in this organization though that should receive any criticism right now. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 05:52 AM) He had a great call during the one inning the offense decided to show up. After f***ing up the score twice in a row he simply blurted out; "I'm getting excited up here!" So great. I wish I could say with any confidence that the Sox would turn to a nice high OBP, above average defender at leadoff next year but I just can't. I just have that sickening feeling that if Pierre isn't resigned by the Cubs sometime soon we'll be seeing Juan "I suck at life" Pierre prancing around LF next season. Pierre won't be coming here to play LF...it will be in CF. With each passing day, I think that situation is more likely.
  22. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 05:36 AM) Is that really that bad? I still feel like we have a chance to make the playoffs. There's no reason to state that the season is over. We'll have all offseason to reflect on what went wrong. Might as well follow the next 2 1/2 weeks of the season, and hope for the best. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 05:38 AM) Julian Taverez, Runnynose Hernandez, anything that the Royals or Devil Rays have thrown out. None of these are good. We've lost twice to Runelvys Hernandez, Gappard, Tavarez, Redman, Jason Hamel.

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 05:36 AM) Blame Owens??? That has to be a joke. There is some blame to go around in this game...but none of it goes to Owens. I'll say this about Owens. He had one of the worst jumps I've ever seen on his steal attempt. I don't think he's anywhere close to being a polished enough player to even be a reserve in the majors.
  24. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 05:34 AM) thats true, but I don't necessarily think its because of lack of offensive approach that was infuriating me earlier in the year, its more of the fact that we just haven't been able to come up with hits (and keep in mind we've been facing good pitchers anyways) We're facing good teams....you're going to face good pitchers. We had a 3 week stretch where we faced mediocre pitchers, and our offense crapped the bed.
  25. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 05:33 AM) By the way, Ronge just reacted with shock when a caller suggested that MacD was hurt. He thinks going with Hermanson was a good move. I now have to get back to the planet Earth. Can we put him on the same one-way train as Pods and Cora?
