  1. I'll be shocked if we have the lead after this inning.
  2. Contreras definitely isn't throwing as hard as he was before the injury. He's also back to his sidearm delivery. One of the things that no one has talked about this year is how much velocity Contreras has lost from last year. He's at 91 mph this year, compared to 96 mph at the end of last year.
  3. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 08:58 PM) Brian just earned himself a bench spot. It was a double....it wasn't a home run or a single and then stolen base.
  4. Why do we continue to play Uribe? Ozzie's use of this personnel is absolutely sickening.
  5. SSI...did you notice that the A's had a pull shift on for AJP?
  6. McCarthy is now warming up, and not Haeger. Nicely turned DP.
  7. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 08:49 PM) You can't take a chance here. Remove him. If his hamstring tightened up, why can't it occur again an inning from now? Or grow progressively worse? What Hawk just mentioned right now is the key. Jose may compensate for his injury by altering his delivery. This is ALL on Guillen -- have to remove him immediately after this inning and not risk an injury. If it's a cramp, it's logical that he could stay in the game.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) And down goes Contreras. Looks like he pulled a muscle. That's the last we're seeing him this season. Looks like I spoke too soon, as it's only a cramp hopefully. Haeger is warming up in the pen. He's staying in the game...good to see it's not a serious physical injury.
  9. And down goes Contreras. Looks like he pulled a muscle. That's the last we're seeing him this season.
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) Page me when Thome does something in September that helps the ballclub. People can show me all the stats they want from earlier in the year, but he's just as guilty of not showing up for the last month or so as anyone else. When the going has gotten tough, Thome's disappeared.
  11. Does Thome ever hit the ball hard anymore?
  12. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 08:39 PM) I wish they would stop pimping that crappy mi manera series. I was sad when I learned the translation didn't mean "I am resigning".
  13. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 08:30 PM) How many teams would Pods really start for? Windy City Thunderbolts, Schaumburg Flyers, Rockford Riverhawks
  14. Haha...great job Ozzie having Pods and Uribe in this game.
  15. Shocker...our two best line drive hitters with hits up the middle.
  16. SSI has to laugh that he hits a homer right down the RF line. Good job AJ!
  17. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) Ozzie's act is entertaining when everything is working out. He gets exposed as a very immature loudmouth when things don't go the Sox way. The way Jessie Rogers was talking about it yesterday, Ozzie and KW completely disagree on the CF situation. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 08:24 PM) do you have a link to that article? I would love to read it. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines
  18. QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 08:20 PM) Why would you send him? Everyone knows Kotsay's arm is strong as hell and that ball was popped shallow. And I know AJ isn't good at drawing walks but the bases are still loaded and Blanton didn't have great control there. That's about the 10th time Kotsay's thrown out a Sox runner on the bases. BTW, did anyone hear Hawk and DJ's disgust regarding how Ozzie was bashing Frank prior to this series?
  19. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 08:18 PM) What are the chances the Media turns on Ozzie, Ozzie says some really stupid s***, and Kenny fires him for his dumbass mouth? I hope the chances are good. It would be the best thing that could happen to this organization. It's amazing to me how much slack Ozzie's being given lately. It was refreshing to read Phil Rogers' article blast him for the awful managing yesterday.
  20. That was a perfect example of everything that's wrong with this team. A pathetic leadoff hitter and terrible coaching.
  21. Why are we challenging a guy with a great throwing arm on a shallow flyball? Also, someone might want to tell Crede that this season didn't end in August.
  22. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 08:11 PM) Will someone please tell me how Gload can't leadoff? He just got a basehit and got to second on a steal. When was the last time you saw Podsednik do that. Because Ozzie likes his leadoff hitters to be scrawny, weak hitting guys who he thinks can bunt and steal bases. For those reasons, I'm predicting we'll sign Pierre this offseason.
  23. Amazing AB by Pods to start the game off. At least we're one game closer to seeing the end of his Sox career.
  24. This lineup makes sense...keep our 2 worst hitters in the game (Pods and Uribe), bench PK and Iguchi, and move Anderson up to the 7th spot in the order.
  25. The coaching staff demanded that KW bring back Sandy Alomar Jr.
