QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:37 AM) Pitchers can't just always will their velocity back. He isn't pitching in the 80's on purpose. Something has caused him to lose that velocity. I don't expect it to magically return. It's probably nothing that a trip back to Mexico can't help.

How many times can Hawk mess up the outs or the count tonight? Great back-up by Pods...I'm sure he was busting his ass getting to the ball.

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:36 AM) you are right, i just want to know how you think we can upgrade speed. SS is the perfect place, with names like Rollins and Lugo being mentioned. Of course, I think Pierre will either be our LF or CF next year.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:34 AM) If Kenny really wants to fix this team. He needs to fire Ozzie, Cora, Walker. He needs to ditch Prancer, Uribe, Freddy. Next year is a contract year for Garcia....so I guarantee he'll find his 94 mph fastball again.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:33 AM) I dont want it to be over. I want to f***ing win. Well, of course. But this team has not shown during the 2nd half of the year that we can realistically expect them to play well this last few weeks. We have way too many easy outs at the plate, a pathetic manager, and 1.5 relievers we can actually trust.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:31 AM) I hate this so, so much. At least it's over in a few weeks....and the Twins somehow lost with Santana on the mound.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:30 AM) Ozzie is really pulling all the right strings tonight. I feel so much better knowing that when we need a good managerial decision down the stretch, he's sitting in the dugout.

It's the 8th inning, and we have Anderson, Uribe, and Pods bat. Talk about some tough outs.

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:28 AM) Well, its safe to say that even if we do make the playoffs, the Yankees would obliterate us. 2007 is going to need some creative Kenny Williams solutions. If he starts by getting rid of Ozzie, Cora, Pods, and Garcia, he'll be on the right path. Nothing could make me happier than seeing Garcia raise his trade value the rest of the way.

If we knew that the A's would go to the righty reliever, then why in the hell didn't we have Ozuna bat instead of Anderson? QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:27 AM) Perhaps he knows that Anderson blows ass against lefties. ....and on the road

Another amazing AB by Anderson. Seriously, what do we teach our hitting prospects in the minors?

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:26 AM) Wow, Hawk sounds really, really down. Sort of reflective of this team... Nice to know I wasn't the only one who noticed that. He seemed deeply depressed when he started this inning.

Pablo should be leading off the inning.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:24 AM) I would, but I still dont think the Rays will trade him. They'll get a much better package than what we can offer them realistically.

Our bullpen sure is consistent at giving up runs lately. Anyone know how many games, out of the last 25 or so, that they've given up runs in?

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:22 AM) I wonder if our next manager will play the starters more than 25% of the time. Why would it matter? It's not like games in April count the same as they do now?

QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:21 AM) Nah. It just seems that way because you're used to seeing White Sox runners going down the line. We have to run to 100 ft. bases, and the opposition gets 80 ft. bases.

White Sox @ A's Game Thread
The Sox desperately need to find a way to improve their team speed next year. LF and SS should be the places we look to upgrade at.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:20 AM) The slowest developing double play tandem in baseball folks. Payton just busted his ass down the line, and beat the play. It's amazing to see how much intensity the A's have. They don't have anywhere near the talent that the Sox do, but they actually look like they care tonight.

Maybe it's me, but I hope the Sox are cautious with MacDougal. With someone with such an injury history, I don't trust him coming back from shoulder soreness that quickly.

The A's are outplaying the Sox in every aspect tonight.
