7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) ANy game where the pitching gives up 6+ runs, your team probably does not deserve to win. Cool...I might as well not watch any game Vazquez pitches.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) I guess Javy will go for his 100th loss next time. If it's against Halladay, as it looks like it will be, we might as well order the champagne now.

7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) He wasnt gassed. His velocity was fine. He threw a few curves over for the first batter, and then tried to overthrow his fastball. He plunked Tejada. Then they realized that all they had to do was look for one pitch. Bad game all around, except for Dye. When Jenks has been most effective this year, he used the offspeed pitch with 2 strikes. He hasn't thrown as many fastballs passed hitters this season as he did last year.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) Why was the infield in Ask the manager.

7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
QUOTE(Soxman72 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) That could have been a DP in the infield was at normal depth, but oh well If you're going to walk the guy to load the bases, you have to play the infield back to try and get the DP.

Well, that sucked. Let the meltdown begin. Jenks...use your curveball once buddy!

QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:40 PM) Huh? Probably in regards to blown saves.

7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
Why would you walk Patterson? He's a massive strikeout threat against Jenks.
-
7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
Great piece of hitting there. We're in a lot of trouble. Jenks is just another of our pitchers who has really been off recently.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) Bobby seems to be overthrowing. Yep, and that's why he hit Tejada.
-
7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
Oh boy, here we go. I still question why he didn't try to throw Tejada a 1-2 offspeed pitch, but it's too late to change that.
-
7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
Ugh! He missed his spot by about two feet there. Lets get another DP on Gibbons.

7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
This is likely Tejada's last Orioles AB.
-
7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
Good series of pitches. Be careful with Tejada here.

QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) I'm not saying Pods is the greatest LF in MLB history. If you told me I had to choose between Pods or Clark. I'm taking Pods each time. Clark is so overrated its not even funny. No one is saying he's Soriano II. Rather, he'd be a nice upgrade we can play against lefties over Ozuna, who is a liability on defense.

7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
This will be an extremely tough save for Jenks. Both Mora and Tejada have had good ABs against him this year.

7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) So I guess the Brewers are holding Clark back then? I'd rather see Mack play everyday the Clark. Mack isn't good against lefties. I would very much like a Mackowiak/Clark LF platoon.

QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) If you based everything on IQ, then anyone could play for the Sox. There's a reason that Derek Jeter is going to end up with one of the highest percentage of votes for a first time HOF candidate in history.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) So, how in the hell is Pods better? I get a laugh out of someone trying to show Pods is better than someone by using homers as a supporting stat. I give him credit though...at least he didn't say he's better just because he hit a walkoff last season.

QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:26 PM) ability beats IQ. Wow! Then we should have Jimenez as our 2nd baseman. He has a lot more ability than Iguchi does.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) It's because they didn't have any capable right handed relievers either. The bullpen was short on talent. But Logan is showing he has talent in Charlotte, whether that ever translates to majore league success remains to be seen. Yeah, it's really just a situation where they got screwed by Hermanson and him not being 100 pct honest about his back. With what we were expecting from our pitchers, the last guy in the bullpen wasn't supposed to matter that much.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:22 PM) True but you don't bring up a single A pitcher to play for a championship caliber team based on a few innings in spring training. No one forced Ozzie to have 3 lefties on the team. I'm not blaming Ozzie...just trying to say it's not necessarily KW's fault.

7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:20 PM) And there's my point. Clark is obviously better than Pods this year, but people won't accept it. I love the way Clark plays the game. In many ways, his baseball IQ is the opposite of Pods.

7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:19 PM) Other than Javy? He also gave us the Boone Logan experiment. That wasn't his fault. No one forced Ozzie to bring Logan in to face Hafner.

Great job by Thornton! Lets get some more runs, as they have their studs up next inning.
