  1. Iguchi finally keeps the ball fair, and pokes it to right field. We need Thome to make some contact against the LHP tonight.
  2. Good thing that was Garcia's good fastball to Kinsler. If that pitch was 88 mph, and not 91 mph, it could have been 2-0.
  3. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) He's a bench player, nothing more. He always has been, and he always will be. Everyone knows I hate Pods, but I think he should have been in the game tonight. He swung the bat better last night than he did in the Tigers series.
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) Inning over. But Koronka must be into the 60's in terms of pitch count in just 2 innings. With the junk he's throwing, and the way the Rangers bullpen has been pitching lately, I wish he was in the 30s in terms of pitches. Against the Rangers, we need to capitalize on our opportunities, or else we're just waiting around for them to put together a series of doubles.
  5. Ugh....the Ozuna magic is offically gone. We need a 4th outfielder BADLY!
  6. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 11:50 PM) As one of the uninitiated (still) can someone tell me why DJ says " you can cancel the post game show tonight" almost every game I watch? It means there won't be a no-hitter.
  7. A bunt? If there were no outs, that's fine. With one out, I'm not a fan. Oh well....get him in Pablo.
  8. The number of foul balls is amazing. Pretty interesting that the Rangers are shading Anderson well over to the opposite field.
  9. One of the saddest 13 pitch ABs you'll see.
  10. It seems like it's been forever since our guys consistently squared pitches up in a game. So many foul balls.
  11. Good offspeed pitches by Garcia this inning.
  12. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) can anyone explain why AJ bats 6th against LHP? Because why change something that isn't working?
  13. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) Cleveland up 2-0 in the bottom of the second. Just for everyones information. The Yankees already won.
  14. 35 pitch inning, and we can't score. Why is AJP batting in front of Crede still?
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 11:30 PM) God we could use a big rip by AJ in the worst worst worst way. Not to sound like jphat, but I'll take a bloop. AJP's had two great pitches to hit.
  16. At this rate, Buck's going to pull Koronka in the 4th inning. An extra base hit here could go a far way to getting our team's spirits up.
  17. Thome sure seems to be struggling vs LHP lately. He had some great pitches to hit.
  18. Very nice play by Tex. Good AB by Ozuna though.
  19. Another good play by Dye. Garcia got bailed out by his defense that inning.
  20. Dye with a great catch. They all seemed to be running in slow motion, but he timed the dive perfectly. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) Alright, well i dont have access to a tv, so i had no idea. No, I don't blame you at all. I know when I'm at work and relying on this thread for updates, I get annoyed if people post jokes as if they're the truth. After 3 batters, Hawk with some strong comments about Garcia.
  21. The first fastball was clocked at 65 mph. Sure it was wrong, but funny just to see.
  22. QUOTE(stretchstretch @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) Because our pitchers are typically going on the support of one run through 5 innings, game after game after game, until the finally cave. Of course there's no excuse for this, and we did just fine that way last year, but we "upgraded" the offense specifically to avoid this risk and they simply are not delivering. We have no excuse for leaving an inexcusable amount of runners stranded, specifically as the result of our 3-4-5 not coming through. I long for that feeling where we are tied and hit a double that scores two runs That is true, but that's not the point I was trying to make. Simply put, I was trying to prove that when you state the score, it's always the high number first.
  23. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) Are they looking to unload payroll or get as much as they can for guys who will be free agents and have no plans to re-sign? There's a difference there. Yes, but why be on the hook for Vazquez's contract for the next few years? Instead, they could find a lot better ways to spend that money.
  24. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:58 PM) I wonder if the Nationals would have any interest in bringing back Vazquez to their org? We probably can't compete with the Tigers' package of prospects and Vazquez makes as much sense as anybody from the major league club. They're looking to unload payroll, not bring in an overpriced starting pitcher.
  25. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) It makes me want to cry when I see him in the lineup. It would be amazing if he could actually see more than 1 pitch in his first AB, but thats probably too much to ask for. Before his injury, he was absolutely a spark plug. However, the magic seems gone, and he's been having some bad at-bats. I'm more worried about his defense in LF, especially with Rangers hitters pulling Garcia's 86 mph fastball.
