Angels @ White Sox--ALCS Game 2
QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 01:09 AM) Podsednik should RUN RUN RUN!!! I don't have a clue why Ozzie is so timid to use a hit-and-run with Pods on base, and Iguchi at the plate.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) It is an odd fielding style. Pinella hasn't been bad. He's better than the other idiots. I really don't care though, I've learned to zone it out and all I do is watch the game. I'm focused on the Sox. Now Scotty, be smart on the paths. Washburn is incredibly tough to steal off of. Oh trust me, you're not going to get the constant b****ing about the announcing like way too many people were doing last series with Berman. It got to the point that people were more concerned about Berman than they were the game. I have no problem with Uribe's style....he gets the job done.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) He always has that odd fielding style. I've just learned to live with it cause thus far he seems to catch almost everything. Just my 2 cents though. Maybe Pinella should have spent less time saying Uribe has an odd fielding style, and more time teaching butchers like Lugo and B.J. Upton how to field.

Angels @ White Sox--ALCS Game 2
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 12:59 AM) THAT play will cost us game two. Book it. I'm a huge pessimist, but the first thing I thought after that Rowand play was that we just gave them all the momentum back.

Angels @ White Sox--ALCS Game 2
We're playing like absolute s***. The infield defense continues to be a debacle in the playoffs.

Angels @ White Sox--ALCS Game 2
How many outs can we give up every night? It was 5 last night due to base running and bunts. We're already at 2.

What in the living f*** is Cora doing? That's just a stupid, stupid, stupid f***ing play.

Angels @ White Sox--ALCS Game 2
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 12:12 AM) That one was Rowand bunting, not Pods. Pods couldn't even get it down. If either of those bunts had gotten down...we'd have won that game yesterday. They might not have shown the same angle on tv, but at the game, you could see that Figgins was even closer when Pods was up than he was for Rowand's AB.

Ozzie article in South FL Sun Sentinel
Miguel Cabrera is one of the best looking young hitters to come into the majors in a long time. I was completely kidding when I said he could possibly be traded for Guillen.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Cabrera = lazy ass 12 year old. Yeah, since our last two left fielders showed so much hustle in the outfield.

What was up with todays crowd?
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) One last thing about last night... They kept showing highlights of the Boston series, which was fine before the game. But once the game started and especially as it got into the late innings and were looking like s***, it started to piss me off. That series is over, let's move on, we look like s*** so far in THIS series. f***ING BRAVO! I was thinking the same thing at the game last night.

Ozzie article in South FL Sun Sentinel
After careful consideration, I think I would forgive KW if he traded the rights to Ozzie for Miguel Cabrera. It might take me a few days to get over it, but I would find it in my heart to forgive KW.

What was up with todays crowd?
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) The crowd tried f***in' hard to get the team back into the game. I'm without a voice today, and probably won't have one for the next few. Could you have ever imagined after being at the game last night that someone would blame the crowd for a loss? It might not have been at the same level as the Red Sox games, but it was still one of the loudest crowds I've ever been around. It simply baffles me that someone would blame the crowd.

Who would you rather see win the NLCS?
I really like both teams, as they are the two main rivals in the NL for my hated Chicago Cubs. I'd rather see the Cardinals though, as they're such a classy team and Pujols is one of the easiest players to root for I've ever seen in sports.

With both Pods and Dye having their contracts done after next season (I might be wrong on that), I think it's very important that the Sox find out if Anderson can contribute at the MLB level. With it being very unlikely that he starts next year, that's why I think it's important he's on the team as the 4th outfielder (like how Wily Mo has been with the Reds the last two years prior to injuries).

Lack of Execution
QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) There is no way Rowand should have bunted with Figgins playing where he was. That really sucked...we got lucky we were'nt doubled up. Sometimes the bunt has to come off if they are gonna play that close....I mean that was ridiculously close...he was almost even with the mound Figgins was playing 10 feet closer for Pods bunt AB than for the Rowand AB.

What was up with todays crowd?
The crowd was extremely loud at the start of the game, and the team came out flatter than Mary-Kate Olsen. To blame the crowd for the lack of execution is flat out pathetic. You do know that the crowd can't force a player to use proper fundamentals, don't you?

Angels @ White Sox--ALCS Game 2
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 04:55 PM) No need for a long post. Do or die time for all these guys. Lets be at 1-1 and head to LA. Sox. ^^^^^^ Well said. No more whining about how we should have won with better execution, etc. Game 1 is over, and no matter what happened, the Angels won! It's a brand new ballgame tonight...and hopefully the team/manager learned some things last night.

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) Wouldn't it be better for Anderson to get a full season of at-bats in the minors instead of limited playing time here? I wouldn't mind the Sox trading an overrated Rowand and giving the job to Anderson but how realistic is that? Some of us on here are of the opinion that either Rowand or Pods need to get traded, as the two of them don't provide enough offense being in the outfield together.

What was up with todays crowd?
QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) FATHOM it isn't amusing at all. I just woke up and still am so pissed at the crowd. THE SOLE reason we lost that freakin game was the crowd. THEY SUCKED! NO EXCUSES PERIOD! Pissed off. Couldnt listen to the postgame show was so disappointed. PLEASE GOD ONLY 15K tonight! BTW we missed your posting on the forum last night.... I hope you're joking about the crowd. If you're being serious, then that might have been the most memorable post I've ever seen on this site. Did the crowd make our hitters forget how to bunt? Did our crowd make our base running suck? Did our crowd make some members of our infield play like they're back in high school? Again, if you were being sarcastic, then I take back everything I said. If you're being serious, then get a grip.

What was up with todays crowd?
QUOTE(shakes @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) Sometimes, the crowd would get hyped up and then it seemed the commercial breaks were would kill it. I don't know if they really are that much longer during the playoffs, but it sure seemed like it yesterday. They seemingly took forever yesterday. Something I noticed early in the game was how flat PK seemed to be. This was in the 2nd inning, and of course, he looked flat the whole game.

What was up with todays crowd?
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) I just think that they should've cheered even if we were down. You gotta get the team hyper some how. As someone who was there, the crowd was still cheering when the team was down. It's just that some of our hitting innings went by so fast, it was hard to really get into it. I find this thread amusing considering all the attendance/fan issues we've had in the past.

Lets tip our hats to Byrd
QUOTE(SKyhigh wit aROW @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) Posted Today, 09:31 AM Oh, and Pods should stop trying to steal bases, at least 2nd. You can't do it anymore, stop f***ing trying. what are you talking about... not like it was his fault... it was a pitch out and if it is any other catcher behind the plate he probably could have stolen second last nite. s*** AJ almost Got Second Base Off molina... Stealing bases is what got us here... and that's what is going to win this series... He's on one of the worst stretches of stealing bases I've ever seen in baseball, especially trying to steal 2nd base. Sorry Scotty, but Molina isn't Vance Wilson. We can still use Pods speed effectively if we get creative with him on the bases. Opposing teams know that he's so eager to try and get his confidence on the bases, that they know he's going to go on the first pitch. That pitch-out by the Angels was an obvious call yesterday.

QUOTE(Randar68 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) I'd be fine with Carl if he replaced Timo as the "Bat off the bench" and emergency OF'er at ~$1-2 million per year... Otherwise... HE GONE! I can't see Everett willingly accepting being a bench player next season. I'm sure he feels like he deserves to start for some team. I really want to see Anderson be the 4th outfielder next season, and get groomed to start the following season.
