Sox vs. Kansas City, 4/08/06, Vazquez vs. Bautista
Maybe A.J. should retire and become a professional wrestler.

Wow....Thome might be our best base runner!

We have a 3 man offense right now with Iguchi, Thome, and Konerko.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 06:33 PM) Pathetic 1-2-3 Against a wild pitcher, guys like Crede and Uribe aren't going to help you much. With the wind howling in from LF, we don't match-up very well.

Vazquez threw more inside fastballs in that first inning than Garland and Garcia did during their entire outings.

QUOTE(Spiff @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 06:25 PM) Need someone who can play backup outfield, asap. We were incredibly lucky that wasn't a triple.

Did A.J. ever play in Spring Training? Whenever I watched the games, it always seemed like Widger or Molina were playing.

QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 06:19 PM) anyone know anything about this denny bautista? Baltimore made an awful trade, when they gave him up for Jason Grimsley about 3 yrs ago.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 06:17 PM) Seeing those replays, while Garland did give up the hits, no doubt, It still s***ty that 10 ER to his ERA is BS. ^^^^^^^^^

Yep Greg Walker, he hit that ball hard, but right at someone.

Does Chris Rongey exist?
On the pre, pre-game show yesterday, whenever someone called in to complain, he kept saying "I can see why you would think that way....I just don't know what the correct answer is".

Blow this team up!
QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 05:43 PM) I agreee with Ozzie leaving him in after he coughed up the lead, though. He got no defense help from Ozuna and those two doubles down the lines in the 4th were more of the "seeing-eye" type than anything. After the way Jon pitched last year, he deserved the chance to work his way out. Those doubles were rockets hit off of him due to terrible pitches. The Berroa double was a massive hanger, and the Buck double was a weak fastball over the plate.

Flubs extend Hendry
Rumor is that they weren't able to agree to an extension with D. Lee. If that's true, he's as good as gone after this year to the Yankees.

Why I'm not worried
I am not worried because my father is a doctor, and he's going to make a fortune on patients coming in with sprained ankles jumping off of the Sox bandwagon.

take it easy on ozzie
QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 05:42 AM) This i agree with 100%. Games don't even start mattering until late july. We need to stop blaming ozzie, he is only human afterall. Yep, tell that to the Indians, who dug themselves in such a hole early in the year, even playing amazing baseball in the last couple of months of the season couldn't get them in the playoffs.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 04:40 AM) Wow... I hope the brakes on the bus were working. I wouldn't want to see Garland get injured as Ozzie threw him under it. With the way Ozzie and the team executed the last few days, it was probably the short little yellow version.

take it easy on ozzie
Well, Ozzie's blaming this game all on Garland. Just because the ball would have gone out if the wind wasn't blowing in, it doesn't excuse Ozuna from dropping it. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 04:06 AM) Its kewl for our leadoff hitter to constantly put the ball in the air for power. Very major league II. Think about how rested his legs can get just doing to home run trot. If Pods = Willie "Mayes" Hayes; Jenks = Ricky Vaughn........ Does that mean that Frank Thomas = Jack Parkman?

QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 04:01 AM) "He hit a couple of balls hard and hasn't got anything for it," said Walker. "So, then, what do you do? 'You've got to get a hit. You've got to get a hit.' That's no way to play the game. I think he's fine, though, I really do." Greg Walker = jphat?

take it easy on ozzie
QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 03:33 AM) That means Gload is not on the team and a multipurpose player who hits righthanded is on the team. Do you remember when we talked about having another guy with speed who can play multiple positions, especially OF? Exactly, we saw this problem about 3 wks ago. We're completely negating Mackowiak's hitting ability by having to play him against lefties. Ozuna should NEVER be in the outfield!

QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 03:30 AM) Why would anyone put Ozuna in RF instead of Mack? Because it works for XBox baseball games?

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 03:29 AM) Ozuna in right not left OG. RM should of played LF dam OGknow your personel How about no outfield position at all?

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 03:27 AM) Curious....do most teams carry 2 solid backup outfielders? One would think Mackowiak should be more than enough to help us out. Who'd have that that we'd have 2 guys down so early in the season? Considering that we knew Pods was dinged up coming into the season, I really don't like how we counted on Ozuna to be our 5th outfielder. And please note I was saying this well before our game tonight. We should never have to start Mackowiak against a LHP.

take it easy on ozzie
It's not his style, but I would love to see Ozzie just be a little cautious with his starting pitchers to start this season. They went through so much last year, I'd just like to see him be more proactive in taking them out before trouble hits late. It's ok.....we still need another outfielder!
