  1. Buehrle should have definitely been swinging with 2 strikes there. As Hawk said, you'll give up the 2 outs to get another insurance run. We need Pods to get the job done here.
  2. Gotta let Buehrle hit in this situation. He'll probably be bunting to get Crede into scoring position.
  3. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:47 AM) I also thought it was a tough call for their manager to lift the pitcher, for a 150+ hitter. My wife asked if he took advice from Ozzie! True, but in that situation, you need to go for it if you're the Padres. If the situation was reversed, I would have wanted Ozzie to have anyone hit for the pitcher, including TIMO!
  4. Holy cow, Uribe took a walk!!!!! Well done Juan.
  5. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:43 AM) You guys are hilarious. It's not like we've scored 6.3 runs per game in our last 10 or anything. 4 games (all of which we won) coming against guys we haven't seen or if we had seen him, not very much. I do appreciate the laugh track along with the game thread tho. We were playing in Colorado! Besides what has happened recently, my biggest concern about the Sox this year is that they've struggled against the top pitchers in baseball (Santana, Zambrano, Prior, C.C., etc.). If we want to ever go far in the playoffs (if we make it), we're going to have to hit better against the top pitchers.
  6. Ojeda seemed to "just miss that". Keep it up Buehrle!
  7. Interesting though that we intentionally walk the go-ahead run. That was a tough call for Ozzie, let's hope it was the right call.
  8. Nady scares me in this lineup about as much as anyone. Buehrle's going to have to make a good pitch to get him out. Cooper going out to the mound....hopefully not shades of Ozzie/Contreras, and McPherson.
  9. Ramon Hernandez seems like he always hits us hard. This is ridiculous though that Buehrle has to be almost perfect in order for the Sox to have a chance to win.
  10. Each batter was able to work a full count that inning, only for each of them to look very weak. Looks like Buehrle really is going to need that shut-out for the Sox to win.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:29 AM) Have we ever seen a curveball from a pitcher? It seems like it's a broken record, but all you have to do is throw a 3-2 offspeed pitch to our hitters, and they look like they're totally fooled. Perfect example was Dye's AB there.
  12. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:29 AM) Wow, Pauly had that little two week stretch where he didn't suck...but now he's definitely back to his sucky ways. I'm confident in saying that Timo will be playing 1b tomorrow.
  13. Have we ever seen a curveball from a pitcher? It seems like it's a broken record, but all you have to do is throw a 3-2 offspeed pitch to our hitters, and they look like they're totally fooled.
  14. Buehrle's 1-2 pitch to Jackson looked like a strike, but the no-call results in a hit for Jackson.
  15. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:16 AM) It's not all ugly, as some would perceive. Fair enough, but it's definitely not "beautiful", as Hawk and DJ said it was.
  16. Absolutely pathetic. Are we back to struggling against any pitcher making his first start against us? Not only that, it seems all of our players are swinging at balls, and taking strikes again. Like others have said, Buehrle needs to throw a shut-out.
  17. These are some of the worst ABs we've had all season.
  18. This is the inning where we need to get something going. If Pods gets on, we need to put him in motion.
  19. Hawk and DJ just said we're not "winning ugly" this year......anyone else disagree with that statement? I'm thrilled with our record, but it's not like we've been playing beautiful baseball that will amaze an audience.
  20. Hawk and DJ are already making a claim that this guy is a future Cy Young winner, instead of realizing a lot of his success deals with the awful approach our guys have had for far too long this season.
  21. Uribe isn't even close to hitting the ball. Until he starts to go with the pitch to right field, pitchers are going to continue to get him out with slow stuff away.
  22. These guys are not picking up Buehrle's changeup at all. We need to get some more runs though, I have no clue why we can't hit this pitcher hard.
  23. Wow, where was that first pitch to Klesko? Looked to be right down the plate. Maybe Nevin acting like a little b**** helped his teammate out.
  24. DJ basically insulting anyone we could possibly play at DH by saying that we're not missing much playing in an NL park.
