Great pitch there by Buehrle to strikeout Koskie. It's so risky throwing him inside because he'll try to get hit.

Marte should be in to face Koskie here.

5 straight awful AB for the Sox. For some reason, it seems like we're going to need another run to win this game.

Have a feeling Shingo will close if we have the lead going into the 9th. Hopefully, we can get some more insurance runs.

Marte should be in to start the next inning, as Koskie has a poor history against him. However, I have a feeling Buehrle might be left in to face Koskie.

Really big opportunity blown there.

Everett is swinging hard than ever it seems like now, and he seems to be fouling off a lot of very hittable pitches. Everett always seemed like he hit better from the left side when he just tried to hit liners with a lot of backspin.

Terrible AB by Everett there.

I know Iguchi has been doing great this year, but I still think Uribe is perfect for the 2nd spot in the order. It's nice that we have the depth to plug guys in different parts of the order in case of injury or slump.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 8, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) Vizcaino has some nice stuff, but he isn't that good. Politte has emerged as the seventh-eighth *inning* guy over Luis, IMO. Ozzie has to be careful with Vizcaino. He's not exactly a reliable reliever, as is evidence by his terrible season two years ago. It's nice to see his velocity starting to increase though, as he was throwing about 3 mph less than he was last year.

Buehrle will start the 7th inning. At 89 pitches, I'd almost guarantee it.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 8, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) I'd rather see Politte in a one-run game. Agreed

There's no way it's anything but 2 earned runs for Buehrle. You can't assume a double play, but you can assume it would have been the third out of the inning with the error before it.

Also, was there a particular reason that Iguchi isn't playing today? Or is it just Ozzie trying to get Lopez a start?

It simply shocks me how Crede can pop up some of the pitches that he swings at. That's about 10 times in the last few weeks he has popped up a very low pitch.

Very good pitching that inning by Buehrle after the first few batters.

I just got back to see the Jays 4th inning before. It seems like Buehrle is pitching batting practice out there. How did he look the first few innings?

Has Pedro Lopez ever played 2nd base before? He was more responsible for that Uribe throwing error than anyone else.

Great catch by Dye there. Vizcaino hasn't impressed me much this season.

I've criticized Cotts in the past, but he did a great job out there today. The Blue Jays had momentum, and Cotts shut them down quickly.

Wow, that's a lot better than a sacrifice bunt!

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 7, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) Well, that's a 24 pitch inning for Garland. I hope he settles down. How does his control look? The biggest difference that inning compaed to Garland's previous starts was that the Blue Jays hitters were not chasing his little slider in on the lefties hands. Garland's only real mistake was a stupid 1-2 pitch to Koskie on the outside corner. If Koskie gets his arms extended, he's a dangerous hitter.

I love that forkball! Great job by our pen tonight. I still hate you Timo!

Rowand should have been in for defensive purposes this inning.

Should Timo have caught that ball? Sure seemed like he could have.
