Dye is now 1 for 15 with RISP. Ozzie, please lower him in the lineup.

Wow, good job by PK and Everett there. That's a great time for Cora to send the runners. If that was with no outs, then he's risking it.

Anyone else realize we have one homer in like the last 57 innings or so?

Sox @ A's 4-27-05
Good patience showed by Willie.

Iguchi is banged up. Gload is also banged up, which totally eliminates any idea of putting PK at 1b.

Today's Lineup
Well, at least the Uribe injury doesn't sound extremely serious. I have no problem if we lose this game today, but losing Uribe to the DL would have really hurt us.

Today's Lineup
One thing though: If Uribe and Ozuna are both unable to play on Friday, then KW needs ot make a roster move and call up someone.

Today's Lineup
Is it too late to pray for rain in Oakland? I'm sure they get at least one game rained out every 10 years. Why can't this be it?

Sox @ A's 4-27-05
I wonder if the rumored lineup is accurate? If so, prepare for a game full of holding your breath everytime the ball is hit.

Sox&Cubs trade rumor
Why would the Cubs want Politte? They have enough righties in their bullpen who have two pitches.....a 95 mph fastball and a slider.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:50 AM) Wasn;t the bats that shafted him. Like I said earlier. Dye and the Umps ran a train on him with terrible calls and errors. Buehrle got a 3 run lead twice in this game, including one heading into the bottom of the 7th. Out of everyone being blamed tonight, his on-field performance was the single thing that cause the Sox to lose. He couldn't get his pitches down tonight, and the A's were able to just serve the ball into the outfield against him. If Hermanson really was able to go tonight, I would have loved to see Vizcaino start the 7th though.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:45 AM) If we lose tomorrow the game thread should be interesting... We'll be the first story on ESPN and BBTN likely so they can say how we're just a fluke and crashing back down to earth.

Injuries...
Uribe's looked to be the most serious. Remember, Podsednik was out for about a week with a minor groin strain. I'll be pleasantly surprised if Uribe plays this weekend.

To be honest, we need Ozuna a hell of a lot more than Willie. We need a righty versatile player off the bench, as well as a backup SS. I'll be a happy man if I never have to see Willie play SS again.

Timo needs to be cut the second Thomas comes off the DL, but good luck getting KW to admit that he shouldn't have paid any more than the minimum for Timo to come back to the Sox.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:34 AM) That diving play by Ginter with the bags loaded was huge. If he doesn't make that, we win. Yeah, there were 3 big plays that really cost the Sox on offense tonight: - Ozuna's DP - Kotsay gunning out "Piano-back" Iguchi at home - Ginter's diving play on Podsednik's grounder

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:32 AM) So how did Willie do tonight? His excellent glovework and bat sure helped us win tonight. Willie didn't ground into a double play with runners on 1st and 3rd, one out though. Both Ozuna and Willie had bad games today. I don't get this pissing contest at all.

QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:25 AM) Hermanson was availiable last night. he's ready to go. That pisses me off even more than about how Ozzie used/didn't use the pen tonight.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:24 AM) I don't think anyone is disputing that. But, to blame the game on Harris because he booted it is really stupid. We all saw a s***ty effort out of just about everyone not named Aaron Rowand tonight... A few other guys, too, that was just off the top of my head. Aaron played well, and Marte pitched well. Can I b**** about Rowand taking a meatball for a called strike 3 with the game tied and a runner on 3rd in the 8th

QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:21 AM) Biggest concern is the health of our guys. This loss is not that big of a deal guys, everything went wrong that could've gone wrong. Exactly. As much as myself and others b**** during the game, at the end of the night, it's just one out of 162 games. A much bigger concern in the health of our guys, especially Uribe. The difference between him and whoever backs him up is enormous. Also, I'm concerned about Hermanson. He's been banged up for 5 days, and still can't pitch.

Sox @ A'ss Game Thread (4/26 @ 9:05 p.m. CT)
Willie didn't blow that game tonight. As much as I dislike Willie as a player, his error was hardly the biggest play of the game. The bases would have still been loaded with one out in a tie game. A lot more blame should be placed on Dye, Buehrle, and Ozzie. Not to mention Ozuna and Konerko hitting/flying into double plays with a man on 3rd and one out.

Sox @ A'ss Game Thread (4/26 @ 9:05 p.m. CT)
I say we dump both Ozuna and Harris then, and get a backup SS and some righty power off the bench.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:14 AM) Anyone wanna bet some money that Willie is the first guy sent down once Frank is healthy? I'll guarantee you that by the time Frank is back, Willie won't be the one sent down.

Sox @ A'ss Game Thread (4/26 @ 9:05 p.m. CT)
The biggest loss tonight isn't the game, but Uribe's potential groin injury. If he's out for any length of time, we're really going to have a dropoff at that position.
