Two reasons why A.J. likely isn't starting, besides for the toe problem: - Widger's had success catching Buehrle this year - With a day game tomorrow, we were going to have to rotate catchers anyways. Might as well let A.J. have another day of rest.

2nd career shutout. I'll answer my own question.

Tremendous defensive game by Uribe tonight! Really makes you laugh when you think how bad Valentin used to be on this same field.

QUOTE(chunk23 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 04:22 AM) According to Gameday, Dye struck out on a pitch square down the heart of the plate. He swung right through 2 straight pitches that couldn't be more perfect to hit.

That was a ridiculous catch by Swisher there. Saved the A's a run. Hopefully it won't matter.

You think Ozzie will leave Garland in for the 9th?

Marte is warming up.

Sox @ A'ss Game Thread (4/25 @ 9:05 p.m. CT)
Marte should start warming up with all the A's lefties coming up.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 04:00 AM) so how many crow eaters are we gonna be hearing from????? Lets wait for the game to be over before we start patting ourselves on the back. Games are NEVER easy at Oakland.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 03:59 AM) Actually he did. When he was rounding 3rd it didn't look like he was running hard at all. Like he was running at problably 50% his speed. Thanks, didn't see that. I imagine he'll be getting the next game off then, especially with Harden on the mound. Ozuna should play 3b, and Harris play 2b tomorrow.

QUOTE(Fotop @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 03:58 AM) Timo as a defensive replacement instead of Pods? Doesn't really make much sense... Ozzie Timo>>>>>>Podsednik

Tremendous inning by Garland there. I liked the curve he threw to Kielty where he took off a lot of speed on it. Looks like he's been watching El Duque pitch.

Crede didn't look like he was too hurt running around the bases, so hopefully it's just precautionary.

Great, the curse of Timo! He comes into the game, and Konerko immediately catches a pop-up with one hand!

Crede left the game with a leg injury according to Hawk.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 03:46 AM) Fathom, can you really blame Iguchi? That's easily the best curveball he's ever seen... 4-0 SOX!!! You know what, I think I totally got spoiled by Iguchi's at-bats against Santana a few weeks ago. I really thought he was going to have better at-bats against a lefty with good offspeed pitches. You're right though, I doubt any Japanese pitchers throw a curve that goes that high.

Big hit Carl!!!!!! That was a rocket.

Sox @ A'ss Game Thread (4/25 @ 9:05 p.m. CT)
Come on Iguchi. He's not swinging with any authority at the plate. He reminds me of high school players that are afraid to strikeout.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 03:43 AM) ozuna is this years Loaiza According to BBTN last night, Ozuna has potential. I honestly wonder if Reynolds knew he was 30.
