Given how bad Collins was on defense, it’s a huge issue

It’s amazing because Stoney keeps talking about how they have to be smarter and better on defense, yet the defense is worse on paper heading into the year than last season

All this complaining about RF and they still don’t have a backup catcher.

Also, much rather they spend the money now to upgrade RF than have to use minor league assets (the few they have) at the deadline.

It’s why it’s an odd feeling for me because I want them to sign Conforto but I’m fairly confident it will end up being an awful deal for the Sox in the long run. I’d rather they do a 2/65 type deal for Bryant but that will never happen.

I’ve recognized that name in the past responding to local media members about Sox related things, and he was accurate.

Something that has jumped out to me is the lack of any recent contracts for more than the next two seasons. Maybe I’m wrong but only Yoan, Eloy, Robert, Kopech and Cease are locked up for 2024. Decisions coming up on Timmy, Abreu, Giolito, Grandal, Hendriks, etc

Very well said. Instead of trying to improve the team, it feels more like they’re trying to maintain what happened in 2021.

This is my one overly negative comment for the night....it’s shocking how poorly this roster has been handled since the day before last year’s trade deadline. You would have to try hard to mess up as much as they have.
