  1. I'd rather leave him in the 9 hole where he's kicking ass rather than move him around in the lineup possibly screwing with his hot streak.
  2. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) ditto... Oh and I would rather have Garcia pitch the occasional big game and do good rather than have someone SPIFF on themselves every game. When has Garcia been anything near good against a good team?
  3. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) Not to be a contrarian here but don't you usually bench some of your A guys when a day game follows a night game? Not in a game as important as this one, just ask a real manager like Jim Leyland.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 03:31 PM) Good to hear about the option year. I still don't see why the Padres would trade their set-up man, especially with Hoffman slumping. Fields might not be a great player in the majors, but he could be a very valuable part of our team in the next couple of years. He also gives us leverage in the Crede negotiations. I don't think adding Linebrink makes us a lot better. Linebrink makes us much better because it eliminates Garcia and gets the superior pitcher in there every 5 days in McCarthy. Of course this will NEVER happen.
  5. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 03:28 PM) how about fields + vazquez/garcia + broadway for abreu and gordon.....ill get to work on my xbox I'm going off legitimate rumblings and rumors from major publications, not just pulling spiff out of my ass like most trade purposals.
  6. I don't have the radio on anymore, what retarded spin is Rongey putting on this loss?
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 03:24 PM) I'll be sickened if we trade Fields for a middle reliever in his contract year. He has an option for next season. And he's a setup man.
  8. Fields to San Diego for Linebrink + spect Garcia to the Mets for Heilman McCarthy to the rotation and suddenly I'm feeling a whole hell of a lot better about this team.
  9. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 03:13 PM) seriously...i am pissed off about this loss, but we played like spiff, on the road, and still had a chance to win each game....it pisses me off, but im not worried yet Exactly
  10. So how many threads does the backup catcher have now? 3? 4? How about we just keep those going and stop clogging up PHT with the same repetitive crap?
  11. Stop being pessimistic, everything is alright. I repeat EVERYTHING is ALRIGHT!
  12. Widger is SO comming through right here.
  13. Magglio Ordonez has been a horrible RF since joining the Tigers, I guess all the secret surgeries in Austria really did fish with his legs. GRANNY TIME.
  14. HEY HEY HEY, we gots two on for THE Jermaine Dye.
  15. I love knowing what pitch is comming.
  16. I love the fact that Comcast is actually showing Rodriguez' signs to Rogers.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 01:12 PM) They've already played him at 1b 8 games this year. Yep and with all the Ben Broussard rumors out there, I really think he'll be starting at 1B on Opening Day next season.
  18. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 01:12 PM) He can't throw out anybody. He also can't call a game or block balls in the dirt.
  19. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) Let me introduce you to my friend Victor Martinez. I think he might've missed 5 games this year. And he's the worst defensive catcher in baseball behind Mike Piazza, some say that a contributing factor to that could be his lack of rest seeing how he's played nearly every game since comming into the bigs. There's a reason why he might be playing 1B next year.
  20. BEAUTIFUL pitch by the Count and Widger right there to get the groundout to 2B
  21. It's been fun watching Ozzie get his ass handed to him by the best managers of the American League over these past few series.
  22. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 12:59 PM) I really dislike Chris Widger. What happened to the guy? *sigh* I hate seeing good players go bad for almost no reason. I really hope he gets it going. Nice start Uribe! He's a 35 year old career backup catcher who had been out of baseball before '05, there's a reason why Gary Bennett is having so many problems no a days in St. Louis.
  23. Appearantly the singing hotdog vendor has gained about 30 pounds according to Farmer. Yesterday he said he was "eating his profits". Why must he dog the poor hotdog guy? I hate sitting behind the 3B dugout at Comerica, that singing bastage is always in that area.
