Bears agreed to terms with OLB Pernell McPhee on a five-year, $40 million contract. The deal includes nearly $16 million in guarantees. McPhee played behind Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil last year, but still posted 7.5 sacks, 64 quarterback pressures and 24 quarterback hits while lining up everywhere from nose tackle to defensive end. He was PFF's No. 2 3-4 OLB, behind only Justin Houston. It's an excellent get for the Bears, who now have themselves a difference-maker for a defense that was ranked 30th in both 2013 and 2014. Bill DeMott has just resigned from the WWE, but stated that he denied the allegations against him. He wrote on Twitter: “I deny the recent allegations made about me, however, to avoid any embarrassment or damage to the WWE, I’ve decided to step down from my role effective immediately.” PWInsider spoke with WWE and confirmed that DeMott “resigned completely” from his role in the company. Just too many guys telling the same story for him to stay.

The Chicago Tribune reports the Bears are looking to trade Brandon Marshall. Ideally, the Bears would work out a trade before March 12, when Marshall's $7.5M 2015 base salary becomes guaranteed. The 30-year-old Marshall was a shell of himself in 2014, reaching 100 yards just twice en route to his lowest receiving total since his rookie season. Injuries played a role in that, but it's become increasingly clear Alshon Jeffery is Jay Cutler's go-to receiver.
