  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 24, 2015 -> 06:00 PM) I wonder if Cubs fans are as outraged as Sox fans were when Ricketts popped off last week. Samardzija was asked the difference between Sox fans and Cubs fans and he asked "Besides paying attention to the games?" Jeff is 100% correct.
  2. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 01:25 PM) Supposedly the Blue Jays are moving closer to naming Dan Duquette of the Orioles as their President and CEO. Kenny Williams was rumored for this position early in the offseason. This is never going to happen but Jeff Hoffman is one of the names being thrown around on twitter as possible compensation to the Orioles. That is nuts. My hypothetical to Soxtalk: Would you trade Kenny Williams to the Blue Jays for Jeff Hoffman? In a heartbeat!

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 07:09 PM) Avi looked like he is in great shape That is great news.
  4. Good I may get to use Crainwreck in game threads again.
  5. Looks like he may be the backup catcher.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 12:09 AM) Sign James Shields if his price tag does indeed fall to around 4 years 75 million and it means being able to trade John Danks? Shields would be fine, but nobody wants Danks at the money he is owed.
  7. Bears hired Adam Gase as offensive coordinator. Gase will re-join John Fox after losing out on the 49ers and Broncos' head-coach jobs. Gase has been Fox's OC the last two years and will have total control over the Bears' offense. Gase's hire is good news for Alshon Jeffery and Matt Forte. Jeffery will presumably play the high-volume "Demaryius role" in Gase's attack. The Broncos were a top-five offense under Gase the last two seasons. Gase should resurface as a head-coaching candidate next offseason if he can prove he can win without Peyton Manning. Source: Rotoworld

I like Avi and think he will have a decent year. He is still very young in terms of development. The injury really cost him a learning year.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 08:59 AM) Hogan said this last year: So it was very important that we brought the Andre the Giant over-the-top 30 man Memorial Battle Royal to this WrestleMania to etch it in stone and to make it a piece of our history, and to have it be part of our legacy each and every WrestleMania. But yeah could still see them scrapping it. Still Vince does like to get everyone on the card. Maybe it will be the free preshow match this year.
  10. Mel Tucker has been released from his Bears contract. This was a formality after the Bears hired Vic Fangio to coordinate John Fox's defense. Tucker oversaw two of the league's worst units during his time in Chicago, but has had past success coordinating Cleveland and Jacksonville's defenses. He'll search for position-coach work with an eye toward getting another shot at coordinating duties in the future. Related: Bears Source: Rotoworld I love reading good news.
  11. Kyle lied his ass off on the Jesse Ventura story.
  12. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 04:01 PM) I am still shocked that Trestman was able to land the OC job with the Ravens. LOL I thought at best he would land a QB coach job or be right back in the CFL. Ravens in desperation mode.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 11:26 AM) Presume with Fangio coming on board, it means we will not be spending money on Paea. Can't imagine he's a fit in a 3-4. Paea to me was gone anyway with Sutton and Ferguson getting more time next year.
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 09:57 AM) Fangio to the Bears as DC. @JasonLaCanfora Vic Fangio has decided to join John Fox's staff in Chicago. Skins were very interested. Fangio made his decision today Dennis Allen to NO as OC. Good hire the Mel Tucker check collection tour is over.
  15. So tired of HHH and Steph first 20 minutes every week on Raw last 2 years running. I do not get the Steph love from some she is a trick pony, can we move on from the boring outdated Authority angle.
  16. USA Today's John Perrotto said that he's hearing that Stephen Strasburg is "very much available" following the Nationals' reported deal with Max Scherzer. According to Perrotto's sources, both Strasburg and the Nationals think that it might be "time to move on." While Scherzer's signing probably requires a secondary rotation trade by the Nationals, the idea of them trading away one of the faces of the franchise is surprising to say the least. Strasburg went 14-11 with a 3.14 ERA last season to go with a career-high 242 strikeouts over 215 innings. Jordan Zimmerman seems a more logical trade piece, but it's possible that the Nationals are looking to make a bigger move. Source: John Perrotto on Twitter
  17. This is great news as a Sox fan
  18. I am glad Ricketts owns the Cubs. I do not see them winning much under his ownership.
  19. Cry some more Wilson WTF!
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 17, 2015 -> 03:39 PM) While the Bears had to fire him, no one would have known he was the source unless he said so. There are coaches and executives giving the same type of information every day. Players speak without giving their names. In fact several did the same thing they were pissed off at Cromer for doing when discussing the incident. Not the first time Mr. Kromer was involved in this kind of situation.
  21. Rex Ryan hired Kromer as OL coach, I would not hire Cromer to mow my lawn.
  22. Bears hired John Fox as head coach. It's a four-year deal. Fox is the 15th head coach in franchise history. Fox enters Chicago on the back of a gaudy 46-18 record he compiled over four years in Denver, but that was built largely on the back of Peyton Manning. Fox was fired in Denver because GM John Elway didn't believe he could take the team to the next level. Now instead of Manning Fox will be working with Jay Cutler, a quarterback who is looking more and more like a coach killer. Fox coordinates neither his offense nor defense, and is extremely conservative in the way he manages games. Fox keeps the trains on time, but doesn't make much of an impact beyond "leadership." That's important, of course, but it's an underwhelming hire for a franchise coming off a disastrous season. If the Bears are realistic, they'll be banking on Fox restoring order, not taking them to the Super Bowl. Source: Rotoworld
  23. Way more than he is worth. 1.6 mil would be about the top for him.
  24. Nice to see Sox getting guys signed early.
