  1. Tell me this is not f'd up. This tv ad comes on for VisitMyrtleBeach.com, shows, you know, people smiling, eating, splashing in the water -- predictable stuff. Until they switch to a shot of a shark. Not a cute, tiny shark. A big, mf'n shark with big damn teeth. After that, people splashing around in the water, a guy on a jet ski. Naturally. How soon can we get there?
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 02:21 PM) I have Renteria sitting on my bench, Hanley as my starting SS and Hafner as my DH. What are some examples of names that would be fair to ask for Renteria straight up, I'm thinking of a power hitting outfielder Matsui, Dye, Pence and Hawpe as buy-low candidates. Best thing to do is figure out who has a shaky ss and look at who he has. Most teams won't want Renteria in the util slot, so you'll need to find someone with a weak ss or mi.
  3. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 10:00 PM) Yeah lol, I hate when you have a ton of good options on your bench, you know your going to check your team the next day and see player X hit a HR or stole a base. Keep trying to trade man, if I've figured one thing out in fantasy it is persistence pays off. Now, I have a very tough question needing to be answered. I'm in a keeper league (6 keepers), I have Francisco Liriano, yes I know ouch. I've tried to trade him nothing has fell through but should I really even think about dropping him? I really want to drop him but I know he will be picked up. Suggestions. I've tried every kind of trade, even Liriano for Rich Hill wasn't accepted. Yeah, I've already missed two two-homer games. Not fun checking the stats the next morning. On Liriano, who would you drop him for? In a keeper league I'd hold on a while. I'm even holding him in one nonkeeper (the same one I have all the of in, funny enough). I'd like to give him a few starts in AAA before deciding. Although, I may drop him for Scherzer if noone ahead of me puts in a claim. But in a keeper, I'd be inclined to tough it out at least until the ASB. As bad as he's been, the Twins did him no favors with that call up. Looking at his spring and his minor league starts, he clearly wasn't ready. His velocity is improving (gradually), and there's no reason to think his control suddenly disappeared with TJ surgery. He's just feeling it all out after a year and a half without facing any hitters, with a revamped delivery to boot. I'm not saying he'll be the Liriano of old ever again. But we really can't tell what he's got left until he starts throwing strikes (and I'm pretty sure that'll happen with time). Then we'll be able to see how hittable his new slider is and how valuable he is long term. Just my two cents.
  4. Zito might be headed to the bullpen. Rotoworld sums it up:
  5. This is getting annoying... I have 6 of, and I'd like to keep 4, but noone is willing to trade with me because almost every of in baseball is playing well. They seem too valuable to drop, but I'm falling behind in innings, so at some point I'll have to bite the bullet and drop someone I believe in for a marginal starter. Would someone somewhere start sucking already?
  6. King Dunlap. Now there's a guy who's worth a pick for the name alone.
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 01:04 PM) Hard hitter. check. Good attitude. check. Plays the run well. check. Injury history. check. Sounds a lot like Mike Brown to me. Has speed to cover NFL receivers. Blank.
  8. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 01:01 PM) They are discussing Stelz now.....sounds positive...they compared him to Plank...the article said Fencik, so it can't be all bad. He's all sorts of good things, hard worker, smart, good tackler, blah blah blah. But he's also slow and he's going to be a liability in coverage because of it.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 12:59 PM) They re-drafted Mike Brown. But bigger. No, they did nothing even close to that.

  11. Bucs are at 120 (so sez SI -- not very dependable, but it's what I've got). So presumably...
  12. We traded down again? Yes, yes we did. Pick goes to the Bucs.
  13. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 12:22 PM) 4th round pick 115, and a 7th rounder SI blows, they still have the 115th belonging to Philly. I'm looking down the 4th and seeing no Dolphins picks, so I figure we've traded out entirely. Okay, that's a fine trade. Edit: Okay, they just fixed it.
  14. The Bears traded out of their 4th round selection, 110 overall. Dolphins get it, still not sure what the Bears got back.
  15. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 10:19 AM) Harrison is a big boy(6'2" 317lbs), thats a pick I would see fitting Jaurons 4-3 scheme, but not so much the cover 2. Maybe they're switching back to Jauron's scheme. You need two gigantic dts, and now they have Harrison and Brandon Lloyd. They're all set.
  16. Houston jumps up to take Slaton. We're up. Edit: ...and NFL network goes to commercial. Assholes...
  17. I think you used to be able to stream just the podium feed, but I can't find that option. Anyone know if that's available anywhere? I'd rather ditch the talking heads and just know what the actual picks are.
  18. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 09:53 AM) Booker, Marty 86 6'0" 210 lbs 7/31/76 Bradley, Mark 16 6'1" 200 lbs 1/29/82 Davis, Rashied 81 5'9" 180 lbs 7/24/79 Hass, Mike 83 6'1" 209 lbs Lloyd, Brandon 85 6'0" 292 lbs 7/5/81 Rideau, Brandon 84 6'4" 190 lbs 10/18/82 There isnt one standout tall wide reciever on this team. Bennett is the same mold as everyone else Wow, he really has bulked up, I guess.
  19. Doucet to the Cards. Fitzgerald will teach him body control, Boldin'll teach him disgruntledness. He'll become a well-rounded receiver.
  20. About 10 more picks before the Bears. Still no olinemen in the 3rd.
