  1. Chone Figgins is beyond a perfect fit for this team but no one as of yet has made a persuasive case that the Angels are interested in trading him or that he is easily replaceable on the Angels.
  2. A good idea would be to indicate how much salary you think the Sox will/can take on and work within that budget.
  3. Here's to 2008....a lot better than we expected. And here's to 2009...to the hope we can improve on this year!
  4. Interesting facts: (1) This will be the 55th postseason game in White Sox history. The Yankees have played 78 postseason games since 2000. (2) The White Sox have never forced or have been forced into a deciding final game (either in a 5-game, 7 game or 9-game series) (3) The White Sox have never lost a postseason game in which they have had a three run lead.
  5. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 06:05 PM) The Devil Rays suck outside their trashy park... unfortunatly so do we. Except for when they beat us 2 out of 3 in August....and we were lucky to get the 1 on a bad call.
  6. Thank God MLB would prefer the Chicago market in the ALCS and has told the umpires so.
  7. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 05:22 PM) Love our pullability. The announcers are talking about how they are trying to bait Konerko into rolling over on one. There is no pitch that Pauly can't pull. In 05 he was great, because in the playoffs he crushed pitches to right center. Kept them honest. Now he is a prototypical pull hitter. I don't remember these hits to right center. His granny in Game 2 was pulled. His two 3-run jacks against the Angels were pulled. His homer in Game 3 of the ALDS against Boston was pulled.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 05:20 PM) Garza has no confidence in his fastball. Which means he is an idiot.
  9. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 05:17 PM) the one thing i miss about valentin is that propensity to take off on anything in the dirt. The mustache was a VERY good baseball player. Very deservedly a fan favorite. Just couldn't make enough contact.
  10. So Jermaine Dye now has 19 hits for the White Sox in the postseason...but only 6 RBI.
  11. QUOTE (WinningUgly85 @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:52 PM) does garza have ear plugs in? what are those? They showed a closeup...it was some kind of cotton.
  12. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:36 PM) the homerun approach NEVER EVER works in the playoffs we need more balance in our lineup for sure yes i'm aware the phillies won against the brewers with homeruns today, but they do all of the other things right when facing a pitcher that they can't square up Actually, homerun-heavy teams tend to do better in the playoffs. http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/lineup-balance/
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:32 PM) Ok, let me try this.... AJ will not knock Wise in. Please also post something about Shanahan not going to give Selwyn Young carries around the goal line.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:32 PM) Ok, let me try this.... AJ will not knock Wise in. Post more.
  15. Two out RBI from our former Minnesota Twin. Dye will follow with a jack.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:29 PM) Unfortunately, I have. That is why I have bouts of depression. Try alcoholism. A bit more fun.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:28 PM) Walks Wise, Uribe swings at first pitch. Ugh LOL, have you not been watching Juan Uribe for the last 5 years?
  18. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:23 PM) everything I've heard walker say, leads me to believe he's afraid to offer criticism to our veteran hitters Oddly enough, Hawk pretty much can diagnose every hitter's reasons for going into a slump and is fairly convincing in explaining it. I wonder if Hawk ever talks to the guys and whether they find it useful.
  19. QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:19 PM) I think it's the players too. Jesse Rogers was on the Score and asked Dye what Garza would feature. Dye didn't know who he was or what he threw. Dye has actually faced Garza before so how the hell did he not know him? That may be JD's style...but if it's a function of the advanced scouting, that's horrible.
  20. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:17 PM) 91 to 94 center thigh to belt straight as an arrow. They can crush that. Now if the thing moves, or is above the belt, then all bets are off. Konerko used to be one of the best fastball hitters in the league. His bat is now a tick slower. Konerko used to be the best fastball hitter in the league. He turned a Matt Anderson 103 mph fastball around into a game winning homer to left.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:15 PM) Smart pitch to Alexei. He was on that fastball. Alexei is the only good fastball hitter on the team right now.
  22. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:15 PM) thx to the guy here who mentioned the no hitter, we get a hit . Yes, please say that we are going to lose.
  23. What is Harold Reynolds talking about the Sox are a good fastball hitting team?
