I really think he is tipping his pitches. If you notice, most of the damage done against him is from the stretch, just like the one writer/scout for Pittsburgh noticed. Once DLee got that lucky single, he started getting hit again from the stretch.
He needs to find what exactly he is doing to tip his pitches, and then to make sure opposing players will stop looking for any "tips", he should make off as if he is going to throw a breaking ball but then fire a fastball underneath their chin.
I'm not gonna be Polly Parrot and profess that I know if he is or not...all I know is he either gets behind too many hitters...or goes 0-2 or 1-2 and just starts dickin' around instead of going for the kill.
