this team amazes me how it finds ways to screw up promising innings.....

That is such a sweet-lookin' play when Lexi does that....

Sox @ Dodgers Game 2 Floyd vs Stults 9:10

Is there a reason it's not on Extra Innings?!??!?!?!?1 -
Juan's done a nice job coming off the bench to date...plus is D is superior to Pablo's. Don't you kind of keep it in the back of your head that a bench player would become an everyday if an injury were to occur? I like Pablo...but if it came down to choosing I gotta go with Juan.

That was another typical inning. Well under .200 with RISP. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 08:19 PM) One run...have to get more than that. I really wish Uribe was getting these starts at 3rd if Crede is out, as he's a decent sinker ball hitter. Seriously...why not? Oh wait...Ozzie's secret weapon PH off the bench! -

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 08:16 PM) Blasphemous! His longest pause inbetween sentences has been 2-3 seconds. GEEZ-US....perfectly good inning shot in the ass. Thanks JD! -

Good lord...my mute button is gonna get a workout tonight having to listen to Scully. The dude doesn't even pause between sentences. -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) If I were Jim Thome, I'd blow up Soxtalk for getting on my case when I've been the 4th best hitter for the White Sox. DO YOU PEOPLE NOT WATCH GAMES OR LOOK AT NUMBERS? no, Jim Thome just strikes out a lot and he's kinda ugly and he's old so therefore he must suck Please let me know next time Thome has a clutch hit in a crucial situation. Those are few and VERY far between for him.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 06:25 PM) DJ isn't great, but he is hilarious at times. I'd love a three man booth of Hawk, DJ, and Stone. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ WHAT HE SAID!!!!!!
-
Speaking of Brenly...anybody catch Greenstein's column the other day grading the broadcast teams? He said about DJ: I shot him an email that said: You lost me right there. Listening to DJ is like having a little parrot next to Hawk the whole game...all he does is repeat Hawk. They should name this duo..."Bird Brains...Hawk and his Parrot". I got a big "Well Alrighty then..." back.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 04:57 PM) Richar is just buried on the depth chart, he missed quite a bit of time. I imagine Uribe and Cabrera will both be gone next year, so barring a signing of Furcal or something like that I'd think Richar would move back into 2B. He would've been the starting 2B had he not gotten hurt. I'm not sure Kenny will just annoint Richar at 2B next year if OC leaves. If it makes the team better to add a Furcal, Roberts, etc...I think Kenny will do it. Speaking of OC...now I've never seen much of this guy before this season...but is it just me or does the guy just look unhappy?!?
-
I guess that leaves me to ask...what happens if Silverio is absolutely tearing it up in a few. It's not a given that Beckham will be annointed because he was the #1.
-
Ya know...Sox lost games 2 and 3 pretty convincingly. One bad inning in game 2 cost us. But losing the 1st game set the whole tone for the series IMO. How in the world can you not adjust to Lilly's floating meatballs on the outer half and not go the other way? THAT'S the biggest disappointment to me in the whole series and again...who does that fall on...**cough**...walker.

QUOTE (Noberto Martin @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 05:51 PM) Why don't people do what I do and not read his articles? He wants people to hate him and people read his collumns to anger them. If people stopped reading he wouldn't have a job. Who cares what he says. Seriously. I won't even open his columns. The dude is a pimple on the ass of society.

Reading on the FutureSox thread about how well Silverio has been doing...just got me thinking about the future infield. We've got Lexi...Silverio...drafted Beckham...have Richar. I think Getz is about as high as he's gonna be but could have some value in a trade at some point. Could it mean Lexi will be the CF of the future or are they planning on SS for him. Of course we're talking 3 years down the road here. But I can't recall the Sox EVER having such a deep middle infield in the system at any point. Sure would be nice to get some video on Silverio. With the depth there...was it a mistake to take Beckham passing on Smoak or Wallace?

QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 10:04 PM) Was told earlier: "You win some, you lose some. Get over it." That's brilliant. Maybe the Sox could have used that as their marketing slogan after last season. Would have gone over real well with the fan base, imo. The worst thing to come out of this series, other than the losses themselves, are the terrible outings from Contreras and Vazquez. I don't want to hear any more s*** about Vazquez being some great, underrated pitcher. Had a good season last year but this is the Vazquez from 3 of the last 4 years (i.e. the real Vazquez). Good arm, some good months, some bad. Certainly not an ace. No way is he our best pitcher. With Contreras, I think he will be fine if there's no injury. I just hope he's not trying to play through something because as we've seen an injury can throw him off completely. Javy Grossman. We never know who we're gonna get out there with him....same with the offense though I guess.

I had a feeling this would happen after the 1st game. They lose a tough game like that when they had it at hand...pissed away multiple opportunities...and curl up in a fetal position the rest of the series. They did it in Toronto...Tampa...Detroit..and now at Wrigley. This team really has no LEADERS WITH NADS!!!!!!!!!!
-
Good teams don't lose 9 straight on the road. We're not a good team. NO NADS!!!! I'm friggin embarrassed right now.
