  1. This team is playin' as well as I've seen it in quite some time. Keep it up guys. Joe Crede is tearing it up...just unreal. Alexei continues to impress the crap outta me. Swish is looking MUCH better at the plate. Great job by Mark tonight!
  2. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 07:35 PM) as of now....your job is safe Mr. Walker You know something I've noticed lately...that I've never...ever since Ozzie's rant and all that s*** went down...I've noticed Walker having more conversations with guys in the dugout during the game when they pan in there.. I'd NEVER seen that before.
  3. ATTA BOY BA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm really lovin' this kid.
  4. Really like Mark's breaking ball tonight...seems like more of an overhand 12 to 5 tonight...where it seemed pretty flat earlier this year.
  5. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 06:49 PM) And that's the perfect scenario we need to a) win now, and B) get good compensation. maybe the perfect scenerio means keeping him for 3 years til Beckham's ready.......
  6. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 06:44 PM) He will be a year older at SS and will want a pay check that the Sox are probably not willing to give him. Vizquel didn't have a problem at that age. Guess you're right...he'll probably want huge buckos...but like chisox just said...a 3-year deal would be ideal IMO.
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 06:40 PM) OC is raking. So OC continues this the rest of the year...you're Kenny...what do you do? Or is OC just auditioning for another team...or a probable return to LA?
  8. Alexei just continues to impress......
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 06:29 PM) The only way the Sox would trade Joe Crede is if they got a tremendous offer (which involved players that in Kenny's eyes made the club better "this year") or if Josh Fields make some huge adjustment to his swing and just started absolutely destroying in the minors (again they would also need to get a good offer for Joe). Otherwise, assuming Joe has a good year, I think they will make a fair offer to Joe (it won't be the best offer on the table and its going to be a take it or leave it type of deal). I truly think Joe likes playing here and the Sox have a very good relationship with him and at the end of the day there is a better than average chance that they work things out. Otherwise, I anticipate the Sox offering him arbitration and getting Type B compensation for him (I find it unlikely that he'll be able to garnish Type A compensation, unless somehow they don't factor in his 07 season since it was due to injury). In terms of Fields, I really feel the Sox have soured on him and I will not be surprised if the club moves him (of course if Crede goes, obviously Fields would have a starting spot and I'd do nothing but root like hell for him to live up to his potential). Josh does have the potential to be a .280, 30-35HR 3rd baseman. However, that is dependent on him cutting down his swing and I don't know if he'll be able to do that. Which is why I project him more in the .250 range. All I'm gonna say about this is that Fields is a valuable piece to have...but Joe is a home-grown product and I really hope the Sox find a way to keep him...he's a Sox...and belongs here IMO. But like you said...a tremendous offer might change things...but won't happen as long as this team is winning.
  10. Did Hawk just say "Duck Fart"?..........
  11. I haven't seen a Sox team swinging the bat so well in quite a while.
  12. JOE!!!!! ON A TEAR!!!!!!!! YES! Go away rain!
  13. 2-bagger for Swish. He's lookin' MUCH more confident at the plate and swingin' the bat well.
  14. I've seen everything now...Paulie with a triple.
  15. Wow...tornadoes just to the south....
  16. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 03:04 PM) Livan almost no-hit us last time. :/ IIRC our hitters had a TERRIBLE approach at the plate that game. Everybody seems to be getting good swings with a great approach. One thing that always scares me is coming off a great offensive game with 3 or more dingers and a ton of hit...it seems everybody wants to go downtown the next game and they lay a big ol' goose egg. Hopefully we have a patient approach at the plate and look to take the ball the other way.
  17. QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 11:58 PM) One very interesting aspect of tonight's game... Nobody on the Sox struck out. It's the first time it's happened since late 2005... The day we clinched against Detroit. After just scanning the box score again I was gonna post that. That's amazing. I honestly can't EVER remember that happening.
  18. I woulda s*** if he caught that.......
  19. This is the prettiest inning so far I've seen this team have for quite some time.....
  20. Any Bloomington area people ever see the Riggins kid play? My dad did once and said the kids a monster 1B (about 6-2, 235) and a tremendous hitter. Played in the Area Code Games last year. He's signed on to play at NC State.
  21. Signability? Going back to school? Type of $$$ asking. Can somebody with their finger on the pulse of what's going on with him fill me in. I haven't really followed his story. Mucho grassy........
  22. Winning streaks make me chubby......
