4/25 Gamethread: Sox (12-9) vs Orioles (13-9), 7:11 CSN+
That was an embarrassing 1st pitch. Good Lord. Got about 2/3 the way there.

Remember the Opposite Field???
That's been my problem specifically with Paulie who sees an abundance of breaking pitches (except a piped heater on the 1st pitch he promptly takes). The other guy...and I really don't know if you can EVER actually change him is Joe. I think he's going to see a smorgasboard of breaking pitches now too IMO. Swisher: good going with the pitch OC: 50/50 Thome: Needs to look that way once in a while. They either try to jam him or float it outside. PK: HAS to start to look the other way more. Dye: I think he actually takes what's given. Should look the other way more. AJ: Does a good job I think CQ: Starting to see the light go off in regards to this Crede: Doubt it EVER happens Juan: *crickets* Bless his heart...he tries I think.

UNDER AGE DRINKERS BEWARE!
Just a question...but aren't the Sox libel of something happened to an underage person drinking in some way, shape or form since technically it's on their "property". Not sure how that works...but you really can't get mad at guys just doing their jobs and the White Sox orginization merely protecting themselves.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
QUOTE (Jim Spencer @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 01:51 AM) When Crede came up to bat, I looked at my nephew and said I'd walk him if I was managing the yanks. Good thing nobody was listening I'll tell you one thing. I hate going to a game with rain-delays My family and I got to see 7 drunken retards get lead away and who knows how many more that we didn't see. I was thinking the exact same thing...why...WHY didn't JG walk him with an open base?!?...A big THANKS to JG and Joe. Huge clutch hit by Joe. He just keeps rackin' them up. I actually turned the volume up (mute off) for the last inning. I swear...I don't know how much more of friggin Hawk and DJ I can take. Hawk by himself is ok...or teamed up with someone like Stoney, who actually knows what the F he's talking about is great...but I'm so friggin sick of that goddamn DJ. Does he actually add any insight besides tryin' to crawl up Hawks ass acting like he's "been down that road too". Thank god for MLB Extra Innings so I'll only get these numbnuts for half the games.....

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 11:14 PM) Most managers go to their closer in this situation in order to try and win it in the bottom of the 9th. Went to the bathroom between innings....came back and thought the same thing.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 10:57 PM) honestly...how often does a hit and run payoff? seems like very very infrequently That was pathetic. 1. you're looking to go the other way on the hit and run. 2. He wasn't even CLOSE to even looking that way. That was terrible......

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 09:37 PM) Swisher's timing against righty pitchers sucks! If anyone saw Baseball Tonight last night, it's similar to the struggles of Carlos Delgado. Swisher hasn't done s*** for God knows how long......

Now showing replays of '05 playoffs, WS. I know a ton of people lament about that was ancient history and all...but damn...I still get all goose-bumped from it. Geez-us...you'd think some of these guys would watch these reels to brink back the taste. Come on rain....let's get this one in! 3-0 ain't s***...

2008 College Baseball Thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 21, 2008 -> 10:55 AM) That would be me. You should be in business because our rotation has been pretty piss-poor and the team has been all over the place (which to an extent can be expected given how young the Titans squad is). Fullerton did finally sweep a series they should have over the weekend (at Pacific). I got some long hours ahead of me but I'm going to try to get out to Wednesday's game. Did you make it out to either of those games? Little 2-game splitter. I guess Murphy's been listening to my rants...he finally has moved Wallace down into the 3-hole instead of leadoff and it's paid dividends. How many times did ASU leave the bases loaded in this series and not score?!?...probably 4.

QUOTE (Cowch @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 10:10 PM) Oh well, not a horrible loss. As bad as the hitting was, this was the fault of Javy. Yeah it was horrible. I'm sick of pissing away VERY winnable games. That's about 3 I can remember so far.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 09:40 PM) I'll take a .300 average, 19 RBI and a league leading 6 homers anytime. Seriously...I wouldn't mind to see Konerko take Joe's 8 spot and move Joe up to 5th......

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 09:42 PM) i thought he was saying he didnt get why oakland traded him since he a was a billy beane moneyball type player, but i could be mistaken... yeah...he didn't say he didn't see why the White Sox got him....

I'm sorry but when you have only 2 runs off Mike Mussina anymore...that's just BAD. Be nice to get a little more production out of our "leadoff" guy...
